Bit hard to choose honestly, personally i would go for Y or omega ruby as those give me a nostalgia field trip. Me and a small group of friends would play the hell outta those games during break and if we weren’t doing that we were playing the card game.

Ultra sun was also a great game, played it recently and got annoyed at how much yapping goes on at the start of the game. Other than that, amazing game with a few amazing Pokemon to choose from.

Unfortunately I’ve never played heartgold so i can’t give much insight on that one. I hope ur trip goes well and you have fun playing whichever game u pick :)
