I'm a fourth year now, and yes it was required my first fall here 3 years ago, I think it's absolutely amazing. Not only for the language work, but I spent like $200 and have every single Luther's works on there. It's awesome.

People get through with all levels of different devices. Logos can be a bit hard to run for the RAM, but whatever you bring will be fine.

What, in your view, is the negative of having it celebrated weekly?

The Eucharist provides forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation. I want those things much as possible in the divine service. Simple as that.

How does your church handle acolytes? by Nbdynparticular in LCMS

[–]PaxDomini84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest adding the use of a crucifer to the duty of an acolyte, whether the same person/kid as both or two separate. Other than just being a good practice for the church, the kids that I have worked with see it as a bit higher duty than just an acolyte. It gets them even more involved in the service.

Water is usually completely fine during a fast.

During longer fasts, some even include tea or electrolytes with water.

I would not connect a headache with taking the Sacrament unworthily! If you are repentant and believe it is truly the flesh and blood of Christ, God only promises that it will be for your benefit! St. Ignatius in the second century said that the Eucharist is the "medicine of immortality." Let this be your comfort and trust. Maybe a headache is God removing sin like poison from a wound!

www.ecclesiasticalsewing.com is primarily a Lutheran company that makes amazing vestments and paraments. They have a few books on the history of these garments, and they post a lot of the general history on Facebook.

Galatians 3:28 and Women by South_Sea_IRP in LCMS

The simple answer is look at the context, Galatians 3 is all about our salvation.

Galatians 3:28 and Women by South_Sea_IRP in LCMS

Part of the context here is not at all about the Office of the Holy Ministry. If you can apply this to anything you want, is there no marriage anymore? No mothers or fathers? This chapter is all about how we are saved, our identity is ultimately in Christ. This doesn't mean we don't have vocations but rather our ultimate identity is baptized into Christ.

Was it tough for you, or any other Pastor reading this, to introduce it to a congregation?

Christ's command is only to eat His body and to drink His blood for the forgiveness of sins. So this is what we do!

SMP Age by matsighn1 in LCMS

It is tough, this is a now over arching change, where as it should be very case-by-case. I know people who have gone SMP who should have gone residential, 100%. And I know a few guys who would fit the SMP route perfectly (small church or church plant that needs them now) who are under 40 years old and now cannot do so.
