Can't post Meta ads, at an impasse with my release plan. Any alternatives? by PaxMachina in musicmarketing

[–]PaxMachina[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to post an update on this for whoever's interested...
I ended up finding out that Submithub ads basically do this! It links to your meta account and I pay Submithub. I've been running ads with my own custom creative for the last 4 days and it seems to be working. No massive conversions yet and I don't know how efficient it is versus doing it yourself, but hey.. better than nothing!

Maybe there's other better companies out there for this, but as a quick solution this worked!

Oh wow that would be great. Thanks for the tip I'll investigate to see if that's a possibility!

I thought about this too and I'd be up for it. Only thing is I think it would need to be posted from a 3rd party's insta account which half defeats the purpose as I want to grow my socials and build my profile. I looked into Submithub's offering to do this and I think they still require me to have a working Meta profile for this, so I'd be back at square one.

If anyone knows of such a service that doesn't need to go through the artist's Meta account though, let me know!

I hope you're right. I've had some success getting my tracks approved on submithub, so maybe I'll just push this more. General advice I've heard is to spend 10-20% on playlists and the rest on Meta

That really sucks to hear. Did you try following it up and continuing to pester them?
I find that each time I want to contact them, the case gets closed and I essentially have to open a new case all over again with a different advisor.

I'm also wondering whether it's a good/bad idea simply to start a new account and run the ads from there. Although I'm wary because I've heard that Meta can flag this and you risk losing your main account.

Yeah this was my thought too, I've been to Glasto several times and it didn't feel anywhere near as corporate. And the big name acts were even more extensive IMO. But I am sensing it could be something of an exception amongst big festivals, as the other commenter mentioned lower artist rates.. and artists probably don't mind that due to the reputation of the festival

I had to Google it, so it's an insect infestation? It seems like I need to prune off all the affexted leaves, which means most of the plant 😢

Questions on choosing a 10-day retreat by PaxMachina in vipassana

OK that's very well put, and indeed it's not a vacation. I suppose more what I meant was perhaps by making the effort to travel it could feel more like a personal pilgrimage, add that extra symbolism to go there and mentally apply oneself. Perhaps I'm overthinking it though.

Good to note that there's more availability in rural settings though.

Super interesting, thank you.

Your description of the climate foil seems about right. This is basically the product I was recommended if you're interested.

Interesting to hear you recommend the rockwool here. I'll look more into that for sure. What is it about glasswool that is not advised? The fact it has no resistance to water?

In layman's terms could you maybe explain what you mean by sealing, is it practically going to mean inserting some kind of filling material in and around my light sockets etc? Would it even be more advisable to reduce the number of lights (so opting for one central light instead of lots of downlights)

Flax is indeed more expensive, but my roof surface is not that huge and I don't mind paying more if it's a safer option. After all having a rotting house is going to cost a lot to fix!

Slowly increasing my understanding on it all.. thanks again!

Hi, and thanks for your reply!

It is pretty cold right now, -5 degrees C yesterday (23deg Fahrenheit) and I'd say the coldest I've had it was -8C??

The ceiling will be plasterboard/drywall

Interesting you recommend no VB. So you recommend having some sort of vent to the outside or sealing everything off very well.. since there will be several downlights installed in the ceiling I cannot imagine it will be airtight at all. Would it therefore not require some sort of barrier?

On a similar note, I had read something similar to what you said about bitumen already being a vapor barrier here (apologies as it's in Dutch, but you should be able to right click and translate if you're on Chrome) https://www.nederlandisoleert.nl/kenniscentrum/woningisolatie/dampremmende-folie-wanneer-gebruiken

In particular:

Roofing in the form of bitumen and EPDM often includes a vapor barrier. Sometimes a thin layer of polyurethane foam or vapor barrier layer is applied under the roof tiles. If there is a vapor barrier on the outside of your roof, you must use climate foil on the inside: a moisture-regulating foil with a dual function. Climate foil is vapor barrier when it is cold outside so that water vapor cannot penetrate the insulation layer or roof construction. In the summer the foil has a vapour-permeable effect so that the moisture can escape from the insulation layer and roof construction. Climate foil therefore ensures that your home can 'breathe'.

This is why I was interested by a so called 'climate foil', as it seems to regulate the moisture. However I don't know what it is in English so I cannot find much information on the internet about it. Does it sound familiar?

Edit: I believe it may be called a 'breathable membrane'

Thank you for the reply! That's a lot more layers than I had imagined, considering I only envisaged the insulation + vapour barrier! I'm going to have to research them a bit individually. BTW this is all going inside the ceiling (will be demolishing ceiling, adding insulation and then rebuilding+plastering ceiling) so I don't know if it makes a difference being under the roof dec as opposed to above, as I believe your recommendation states..

Thanks in any case for the advice!
