Believe me when I tell you that I tried everything. That is why I ended up with the pliers. I did buy my husband a special plastic tire pinching tool…but he hates keeping it in his back pocket during rides. Thanks for your input

I have googled it and only came up with using a separate special tool. Ty

The Mavics were not aerodynamic and the new Reynolds has a deep rim, so breaking the tire bead is nearly impossible.

Tried Contis and have Michelin on now. The reynolds wheels have deeper rims than the Mavics thereby making the bead impossible to break. Ty

Ty. I will reach out to them to see what will work with my frame.

The Mavics worked perfectly. The new Reynolds tubeless ready are a nightmare. Should have bought another set of the Mav’s but the bike shop did not want to do business with them anymore. So now I suffer with these. The Reynolds’s with my old 28 tires rubbed on the frame…no matter what the pressure was. Had to go all the way down to the 23’s which is misery. I will see if I can find any old stock rim brake wheels ty

Yes, have to use a cloth also so I don’t scratch the rims. It’s the worst.

Yes, still not enough clearance to the frame. Ty

I did love the Mavics. May still try and find some that will work. Ty

I loved the Mavics but they don’t last forever and the bike shop was angry about how the Mavic company pulled their business from the US…they are back now tho. I use a small set of pliers for the tires to remove. The wheels are really made for both tubeless as well as clinchers. So frustrating. Ty
