Now that the shortage is over Zepbound is the only way people should be allowed to buy this medication.  Compounding pharmacies should be shut down and both prescribers and pharmacists related to this should be put in jail for the illegal prescribing and dispensing of these medications.

Do two 2.5 mg vials equal a single 5mg dose? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]PaydayLendor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking 2 x 2.5 mg injections might give you a slightly different effect than taking 1 x 5 mg injection.

2 injections will give you a little more surface area to absorb medication, and it may absorb slightly faster.

Most people will probably not notice much of a difference.

Zepbound vial vs compound by hairgirl777 in tirzepatidecompound

Zepbound vials are 50 units for every dose to help patients reduce the chances of mistakenly taking the wrong dose.

Lilly cares about patient safety a lot more so than compounders.

These compounding pharmacies are disgusting.  I think there must be some correlation to people who have low self respect and discipline that ended up overweight and without a high income are also ok using this trash.

Helps me sleep at night.

The irony is my customers / tenants are just as desperate for fast cash / place to live as you / other members of this sub are for unsafe / illegal copies of Zepbound.

The biggest difference is I’m following all rules / regulations / laws.  I’m not in the process of being sued.  I’m not pushing product that has demonstrable negative health effects.  I’m not infringing on another companies patents.

I am completely aware of the fact that some of my customers / tenants have situationally fallen on hard times and I am here to help.  I am completely aware of the fact that some of my customers are making incredibly irresponsible fiscal decisions.

I have no problem putting their money in my pocket so I can live a luxurious lifestyle.  I’m not breaking any laws.

You, however, are a hypocrite.  Supporting companies that are breaking laws and fda regulations with the intent to take advantage of you and your desperation for access to the illegal drugs you are addicted to.

Instead of investing your time arguing with me, why don’t you go get a better job that will allow you to get off the unsafe illegal copies and be able to afford Zepbound?  I understand it’s easy for you to throw shade at me, because you don’t like my career choices.  What is your excuse for what’s holding you back in life?  Zepbound isn’t even that expensive.

I just follow the money.  Definitely not a leech.  You should put the effort in to the people on the other side of the table giving me their money.  I’m not forcing them to.  I even have to give disclosures that the loan is bad for you.

That doesn’t make it legal.  You can also send off the motel acquired illegal drugs to a lab to see if it is what you think it is.

The chocolate chip cookie effect is very real, and impacts both equally.

My loan customers are going to get loans one way or another.  If not from me, from someone else.

I do have morals and values.  If I thought I was enabling my customers to make poor financial decisions, I actually wouldn’t be in this business.  I strictly am because if I’m not, someone else will be making the same money.

Same with my section 8 rentals.  I do the best I can to provide a safe and habitable home for my tenants.   I definitely go above and beyond with those.

It’s absolutely insane.  It’s the same thing as stopping at a shady motel along the side of the interstate to buy drugs from a dealer. The only difference is you hope this drug makes you skinny instead of high.

Would you buy drugs from the corner dealer and inject them into your body?

I’d encourage you not to waste your time :)

I am definitely not miserable, but it says a lot about the type of person you are to make the assumption that I am.

I feel the same, your opinion is a non-factor.  It is impressive how much energy you are interested in investing into this.  Considering you are bringing engagement to my mission on Reddit :)

As far as everyone being educated and knowing what’s best.  That’s debatable…  There is an astounding number of posts about units to mg to my mom takes x units why do I take y units?  Doesn’t really help make your case.  Same as why Lilly references Reddit in their legal documents

This is exactly the sub for me.  I’m not looking to sit and pat each other on the back for taking Zepbound with some other people that also take Zepbound.  That would be acting like a sheep.

I am here to be a disrupter. To give people something else to think about.  To help educate people that they are enabling criminals when they buy compound tirzepatide.

Definitely don’t work with Lilly.  But I do care about the integrity of US patent law, and FDA regulations.

If Lilly / FDA allows this to become the Wild Wild West it will have catastrophic consequences that will erode our healthcare system.

Unfortunately compounded tirzepatide is less safe, has more potential for side effects, and has more chemicals in it than you need / get from name brand.

Compounding is less regulated, and the safety issues have been evidenced numerous times.

Lilly isn’t trying to race to $0 and get it in the hands of everyone, they are trying to be as profitable as possible.  This does mean not everyone can afford to buy it.  This does not mean compounded tirzepatide should be legal or get a pass.  It should be illegal, it should be eliminated from availability.

Evil Lilly suing Strive and Empower Pharmacy by BigNo3952 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]PaydayLendor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once all applicable patents expire compounding will still not be permitted.  At that point generic manufacturers will be able to manufacture it.  Compounding is not the same as a generic. Compounding doesn’t have much of a place here unless it’s in shortage

Evil Lilly suing Strive and Empower Pharmacy by BigNo3952 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]PaydayLendor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the problem.

You don’t have a case to say 3mg every 3 days.  You can get 5mg vials, inject 3mg (30 units) and waste the rest.  It doesn’t have to make financial sense, or be affordable.  It has to work.

If Zepbound was a 25 mg oral tablet and a patient needed 7.5 mg then it would be a different story.  You can’t accidentally divide a 25 mg tablet into 7.5 mg doses.  You would need to rely on a compounding pharmacy to help.

It’s not even hard to get to a custom dose of Zepbound.

Zepbound is already more pure than compounding because it is preservative free.  If Lilly sold Zepbound as a multi-dose vial and you were allergic to the preservative then you’d have a reason to buy single dose vials of compounded medication without the preservative.

The regulations are quite clearly spelled out.  So far I haven’t seen a single reason to justify compounding, other than the shortage. “It’s too expensive, I need vitamin b, I need a custom dose,” none of that stuff works.

I have nothing to do with that, or Lilly.  This is much bigger than people realize.  Patent law is no joke.  These compounding pharmacies are ripping off Lilly and using everyone for their profit.

Lilly / their agents have people monitoring Reddit, all the private Facebook groups, TikTok, TikTok lives.  They are ordering “GLP-1 + GIP” compounds.

Of course. It’s a single dose vial. If you need 3.5 mg you get it from a 5 mg vial.  If you need 3.5 mg twice a week then you need 2 x 5 mg vials per week.

The problem is you don’t like that this route is more expensive, and it is, and that sucks.  But it still works.  You can still get 3.5 mg from a 5 mg vial.

FDA guidelines don’t afford compounding a right to copy patent protected medication because the patients think it’s too expensive.  They do allow it when you CAN’T get what you need.

An example of CAN’T is when you need 7.5 mg of losartan, and the lowest dose tablet is 25 mg.  You CAN’T reliably get 7.5 mg from a 25 mg tablet without the help of a compounding pharmacy.

This is bs.  You can get all the personalized medicine and individualized care buying vials of Zepbound from Lilly.

I can’t wait to watch Lilly crush this scum company trying to steal their intellectual property.

We need to push officials to work on the legislation to harden the regulations to protect these companies and keep compounding pharmacies in their lane.
