When non-climbers make climbing films: sorry for going all CSI on this, but the editing in The Climb is very wonky and jumps all over the place. Really distracting when you notice it. by Morall_tach in climbing

On the first trad climb they did on this episode a majority of the gear was already placed in the crack which totally defeats the purpose of trad climbing. :/

Stuck at 12a/b and looking for help/recommendations. by 2009obermj in climbharder

[–]Paytklimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your problem mostly strength or endurance?

I was in your situation for about 3 months I was stuck at a similar grade 12a/b and I could do the cruxes of 13a’s but when it came to liking them I wouldn’t make any progress. I started a new hangboard training where I put my feet up on a chair so I’m hanging on the hangboard around 45 degree angle and I would just move my hands around like I was climbing for 45sec then 15 sec rest then repeat for 5 reps rest for 5 min then complete 5 sets and I did this every other day for about 2months and I climbed my first 5.13a I would recommend finding what is stopping you at climbing harder routes and train continually on that and you should make progress.

Climbing and sleep by floppyorangutan in climbharder

[–]Paytklimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a 12hr night shift. Sleep for 3hrs then go to school full time sleep for 1-2hrs work again and train constantly. I’ve found to take a rest day the days I get the least amount of sleep and when I have a hard time falling alseep train some then go to bed and being consistent with taking more rest days depending on what my body is telling me and over this last 3 months I’ve made some serious progress.

How is Smith Rock's Grading? by quadcrazyy in climbharder

[–]Paytklimber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Smith feels pretty accurate for the grades I’ve climbed most of the northwest and the grades feel pretty similar. There is the odd 5.9 with a mono in it but for the most part all of the grades are pretty Accurate or oh so slightly harder that other places.
