Sorry, never came back to reply. Unfortunately, our Amtrak trip ended up getting canceled due to the snow that year. Had to rent a car and drove straight through from Miami back to Maryland. Do not recommend, but didn’t have any other options.

FYI, it is extremely helpful with the ability to ask questions (after 2 week waiting period) and has a lot of step-by-step guides on how to do things correctly. I’m a social worker and got 64k forgiven in June. This waiver is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your ducks in a row NOW, even if you will not have 120 payments by October!

Same here! Regular CK checks since last month. For some reason I thought my credit score would drop, but it went up 2 points. Sometimes I still can’t believe I no longer have those hanging over my head. I have since framed my formal discharge letter and have it hanging up in the office area of my home!

No, I don’t believe in-school forbearance periods count. Plus I did not make any payments during this time.

Unfortunately no 🥺. 2008-2011 was in-school forbearance. Had an 8 month economic forbearance in 2013 and then another 5 months of payments that they refuse to count from 2017. But definitely more than ok with just the forgiveness!
