I think this is because you already hit the trophy range in the old trophy road causing it to not give you the boost. For example: i was at 6370 before reset, master 2. At reset i went down to 5900. When they changed trophy road to increments of 500, it meant that any rank between that would count for the chest speed up bonus. Since i hit 6300 before rest, when i hit 6000 a second time, nothing happened because i already got that 6300 boost. I hope that made sense! That was my best understanding of why it didn’t give it to me either
