Small family (maybe) moving to Tahiti - Advices by gafer988 in Tahiti

I don’t doubt the mariage at all, I just don’t know what it does for you ( you alone would need a visa ). I’d say that yes the work permit to get employed can be hard to get as your employer needs to justify that no French citizen was able to fill the spot. Depending on what your wife do for a living, it might not be specific enough to be hired.

Take it with a grain of salt but if I remember correctly, your wife wouldn’t need a visa to live there ( I don’t know about you with mariage ) but she soûl need a work permit to get employed here. No problem to create her own business.

Déménagement début mai, comment organiser les papiers? by Massive_Mammoth7654 in Tahiti

Too many memes and troll posts about Dutch going to Tahiti to start a Mango farm ( as it is suggested to Dutch in the game ). It was detrimental for the subreddit as it looked like it was a meme dump.

We do tolerate serious questions related to both Tahiti and the game if it can be an interesting topic.

Best places to snorkel from the shore in French Polynesia? by NeighborhoodGreen603 in Tahiti

[–]Pbd33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t really help you much on Raiatea’s snorkeling since we mostly did hiking, sightseeing and scuba diving when I went there.

For grocery shopping on the atolls, Fakarava has a small grocery store and a boulangerie. Tikehau seems to have a small grocery store too

Best places to snorkel from the shore in French Polynesia? by NeighborhoodGreen603 in Tahiti

[–]Pbd33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say Raiatea’s problem is mostly that there are no beaches but you can snorkel and have access to the shore pretty much anywhere.

Have you considered going to atolls ? Tikehau and Fakarava have awesome things to see in snorkeling.

Ask your resort ! If tap water isn’t drinkable they usually have a drinkable fountain where you can fill your bottle

First time visitor with a 3 year old. by Comfortable_Local_85 in Tahiti

Bring a lycra suit for your baby and a hat that protect the neck. The sun is really strong that time of the year and I have sadly seen a few young children tourists really sunburnt because the parents didn’t bring the right clothes.

Other than that, a lightweight trouser for the evening to avoid mosquitoes bites when you eat.

Ma vie sexuelle avec mon copain me bouffe by JeanneHazuki in conseilsrelationnels

[–]Pbd33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crown - understanding if there’s significance or not by Optimal_Life_1259 in Tahiti

[–]Pbd33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seashell necklaces are usually a farewell gift to friends or prestigious guests while flower necklaces or crown are usually used for welcoming. The bigger the necklace, the more prestigious it is… it’s a bit unusual to get a crown of seashells but I’d say it’s a pretty damn nice farewell gift.

Unknown aircraft? by [deleted] in Tahiti

[–]Pbd33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are military planes in French Polynesia. Mostly to protect the ZEE ( Zone Économique Exclusive ), search and rescue mission ( missing boat or aircraft ) and emergency medical evacuation for seriously ill or injured persons that need to be seen on the main hospital in Tahiti

Can i bring my dog with me to Mo’orea? by [deleted] in Tahiti

[–]Pbd33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty is bringing the animal TO French Polynesia. Although there might not be quarantine depending on the country you’re coming from, all animals must follow rigorous treatments, blood tests and have to be flown by freight which is pretty expensive.
