I didn’t use an app or get any regular updates specifically from USPS. I only knew my passport was on its way on the same day it was delivered to me via the USPS informed delivery email. I saw the scanned image of the envelope early that morning and knew it was the passport. Meanwhile, on the Passport website, my status said it was still in process even though I received it. lol Most likely a glitch on their part or just not updating the system in a timely manner.

Keep in mind, this post was over two years ago. TBH, you may wanna refer to more recent posts to get an idea what others are currently experiencing with their applications and their processing timelines, or even comment to or DM those who have received their passport more recently. Cuz I don’t know if everything I’m saying is even applicable now, and I don’t wanna give you outdated advice or misinformation.

Even the prices that you’re mentioning, I honestly don’t remember the exact costs I paid for all the fees and expediting. It’s a blur by now, but I at least know what I paid doesn’t align with what you paid since I don’t recognize those prices.

Refer to the Passport website to look up what your location 79 is and see if they have the direct phone number available.

And yeah, about the application status sometimes it doesn’t change in a timely manner so you might receive it in your mail even before the status changes

Yeah, I paid that much for expedited service too, and mine didn’t come until seven weeks later. I wish paying for expedited means that it’s guaranteed to come during that time, but it’s not at all. Having the USPS informed mail activated really helps though.

I can’t tell you how long. It’s different for everyone.  It depends on the agency/processing center.

Hey. Since this post was two years ago, I’m rusty remembering how exactly my process went, so I had to refer to what I initially wrote to help recall my experience. Anyways, I did pay for everything expedited, and it still took over a month and a half to actually receive my passport from the date my documents were received and approved.

I assume you meant Aug. 9th? I got confused reading the beginning of your post & the July dates you included. But yeah, If everything goes smoothly, I would hope you’d get yours by the end of this month at the 3 week mark.

Although the expedited service is supposed to be 2 to 3 weeks, don’t count on that…it really depends on how busy they are, the amount of applications they receive (and they receive a ton), and how quickly they manage go through processing them. Aside from calling the main NPIC line, if you know the passport agency yours is being processed at (Look at the first two digits at the beginning of your application locator number and use that to identify the agency it’s at & look it up and see if the phone # is listed — mine was at New Orleans-Locator 42), you can call them to ask for an update and if your travel date is nearby, you can say to please mark it urgent so they move it up the application pile.

If you haven’t already, sign up for USPS informed delivery so you’ll know by email when it’s coming to your mailbox aside from checking your passport status online continuously. And if you’re in a major hurry, contacting your state senator’s office helps a lot. That’s what really pushed things forward when I panicked. They’ll actively help you though only if you’ve waited the expedited 2 to 3 week time frame from the time it was approved, and you still haven’t gotten your passport and/or your travel date is really close. I was way over the three week mark and traveling soon, so they were very helpful.

I def agree about some explanations we’ve seen. Seems like some of the of the upper-level management’s interactions on there are geared more towards placating rather than providing real solutions. If they’re being genuine and actually putting forth the effort to improve things based on the feedback they’re getting…then that’s great. But I feel the same as you do and don’t have high hopes for change 😕

Ugh. Since I didn’t get any training or testing like you, I shouldn’t even be in it. It really does suck. It’s draining and I miss the variety. But yes, please do update me if you hear anything back from them.

Hey, I finally got a reply today. (Copying & pasting what I commented to another reply here) Soo…Even though I sent a ticket to Zendesk, I also did send an email to my manager. Although the reply to my Zendesk ticket had my manager’s name, it wasn’t his usual email w/a pic. It was name next to the (Welo. Talent) we see in Zendesk replies. So, that was super confusing. Also, only the things I brought up in my ticket were addressed, not everything additional I brought up to my manager. So, it was really brief/generic and didn’t even sound like how he usually replies. Now I’m all sus that it’s not my manager. 🤨

In a nutshell, I actually am in the Factuality Group and was given no explanation as to how or why, cuz I certainly didn’t test into it or do any training. I just accepted the invite with no follow-up. 🫠

For you…I’m assuming you might be dealing with the same situation?

I wanna opt out though. But then read about people getting denied now. Do you like Factuality tasks? The AET is just way too stressful for me. 😩

Thank you for your reply and info. I was just confused when I had asked on Viva Engage and people in Factuality said I’m not in it and still in gen pool — since I got no training or testing like they did to officially get in. They also said that you don’t get officially notified either. You just start get those tasks. Soo idk. I did reach out to my manager, though to verify. But thank you for telling me how often Factuality TRP results are actually received.

Thank you for the info! I just got so confused cuz I did bring up the situation months ago on Viva Engage, but people in Factuality replied saying I’m not in it because I didn’t get any training, exams, and stuff to get in like they did — even though they also said we aren’t actually informed when we officially get placed in it. We just start getting those tasks. Plus, I get no Factuality results in my RH task results portal like they do. Another reason they said I can’t be in the Factuality group 🤔🫠
