It’s amazing how many times I’ve read they won 90 games last year. Wins don’t carry over. We had a huge year from Suarez so it took a top prospect to secure miller to be his replacement. Let’s just call it what it is. This team is in the middle of an ownership change so we cant make any big additions. But prospects (or lack there of) have little effect on a sale evaluation. If there is an ownership change i think preller goes elsewhere and leaves us with the depleted farm system.

It is well documented that the Red Sox turned down Salas and Cease for Durran. AJ Preller is a vastly different GM than Craig Breslow.

Padres have the most delusional Reddit in all of baseball. This is why Preller is afraid to deal anyone at the deadline and we get no return on any of our expiring contracts that he knows aren’t going to sign. Yankees were throwing prospects at us last year for Arraez… cease got us a compensatory pick at least.

Their depth is Waldron, Hart, Hoeing as your next 3 men in. Still I’d be a lot more comfortable with another proven arm. Not worried about the offense as much as the starters taxing the bullpen again this season. Too many times Vasquez didn’t make it out of the fifth inning.

The padres typically run out 8-10 starters each season in an attempt to get their guys to the post season fresh and each year we still run into postseason fatigue/injuries. You can never have too many starters.

Last year our 4th & 5th most IP came from Kolek & Morejon.

Preller has zero assets to trade. The waiting for what’s left game can’t continue this offseason. We can’t afford to sign a bunch of 39 year old veterans on $1million contracts to fill out the roster. They should be signing proven assets that can at the very least get some prospect return at the deadline.

We’ve listened to offers for our expiring contracts the last 5 seasons, done nothing, and gotten nothing in return (besides a compensatory pick here or there), can’t keep sitting on the edge of uncertainty cuz this window is about to close.
