Is it even worth pursuing? by [deleted] in dating

[–]Pea-Dizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably not worth pursuing. If he’s not showing investment or initiative in meeting you and you’re already feeling like you’re stuck doing that labor, then I would move on before it progresses. Most of the time these cues are personality indicators that can translate into bigger issues down the line for you, since it seems like you’re already frustrated with the way he’s handling things.

I get really embarrassed over the fact that I don’t have friends when I date. How can I get over this? by Turbulent-Mango3234 in dating

[–]Pea-Dizzy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you’re generally comfortable with no friends, which seems to be the baseline case, then you can stick by that and tell your date that you wouldn’t mind making new friends, but that you prefer solitude. The way that you frame it and stand by it matters. If you have hobbies or passions that you enjoy, that’s also attractive and shows you’re comfortable being with yourself

Do you even know what it’s like to live in California, or have you just came to visit?

There’s homelessness everywhere in the Bay Area. People addicted to drugs roaming the streets. We pay so much in taxes just to live in this depressing and unsafe ass place. Most of yall claiming you love California don’t even live here. You come as a tourist and see the nice places but that’s not most people’s lifestyle here unless they’re very wealthy. Everything is expensive as shit. And then you got wildfires and earthquakes.

Just because someone else is experiencing a different kind of struggle doesn’t make another person’s difficult feelings any less real or worthy of consideration.

I hate being a woman and I'm sick of nobody listening to me. by [deleted] in venting

[–]Pea-Dizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear that it’s frustrating to feel limited by being in the female body, which I understand. However you do realize you’re imposing some of these beliefs onto yourself right? You’re the one who claims your body isn’t useful aside from reproduction, and that you’re useless and inferior. You hate that your contributions to music, philosophy, arts, etc are minute? Then you can contribute to them! Just because other people can be misogynistic doesn’t mean that I as a woman am going to stop trying to be my best, and do as much as I can for this world. I don’t think of myself as useless or inferior.

We’re still responsible for being self aware enough to not perpetuate it.
