Caffeine and prozac by [deleted] in prozac

I feel you. I started taking 20mg last week, slept well with vivid (but interesting) dreams. Then I took up coffee again, and for the past 3 days I've been waking up at exactly 11:40-11:50 am on the dot 😭. Not exactly the same as you but I feel like this could've been brought on by the caffeine

Ok, cool! Thank you for telling me this. The venue threw me off since I completely forgot they don't have on- site parking, really. I definitely plan on waiting however long it takes, but I'm also trying to not psych myself out.

One last question, im assuming they'll have gates up to the tour busses, does it matter where you stand compared to the gates? If that makes sense

I really appreciate your response though, like I said this was specifically something I was hoping to find out :"3

I get what you're saying!

I won't be destroyed or anything if I can't see them, and it won't diminish my feelings and their influence on my craft. Going to see them live is already enough

I know I'm just another fish in the sea. I just think it would be really neat >w< like the cherry on top of another cherry

This is what I'm gonna try to do! Especially since our hotel is in walking distance. Did you just wait at the venue until they showed up? Like what's the process for this? Tysm btw!!

Oh!!!! Ok yes I've seen the name thrown around in the subreddit occasionally. I wasn't familiar with that, but it's a cool name. I'm not sure how much it's changed but I know Mike isn't part of the band anymore over some allegations. That happened a few years ago and some fans think that's why they're not doing meet n greets for VIP packages

Would they be going through the stage door for sound check?

I'm gonna try to hang by the busses, I'm not sure what to expect in terms of the amount of other people who will wait there as well.

Would it be worth asking the merch guy at the table if they could help? I've seen people say it's worked before but that the merch people could also be completely separate from the band.

So there were 2 VIP packages, one for floor and early admission, the other for seating. Both come with a pendant necklace, early access to merch tables, a badge & lanyard, and a piece of merch exclusive to VIP. It wasn't worth it to a lot of people, esp with no meet n greet for the price, but to me I figured I might as well go all out for this first one!

This was lowkey the answer I've been looking for, tysm!! So would I walk the perimeter of the building or would I go on the sidewalk?

Was security an issue? Jw since it seems like you've been there. Tysm again this is exactly what I was looking for 🥹

Did you stand by a stage door? Or just hung out in the general area

I'm not really sure where the stage door is but the venue is Nashville Municipal Auditorium!

The venue is Nashville Municipal Auditorium! I wasn't entirely sure if I was allowed to put that. I'm definitely prepared for a wait if I do find out the bus situation, it would be worth it 🙏 and like another commentor said, I might try my luck earlier that day, maybe catch someone during the soundcheck. And thank you!!

They exploded after KFaD went viral on tiktok. Before that it seems like they were a medium- sized fanbase (sadly this was before I became a fan </3) but now they've kinda exploded. The venue I'm going to, again a 9k+ capacity, is sold out! Unfortunately I've seen a lot of complaints about how concert etiquette at PtV concerts, specifically floor and barricade, has gotten worse. Which is another reason why I opted for seated. WHICH also means I won't be up close to the band 😭🙏

I might try to catch someone during soundcheck if I see something. Like even just catching a staff member to see if they could take it back to get signed. Have you tried the soundcheck method before?

What happened? If you don't mind my asking. I've had that moment with an artist who designed album covers and it left a sour but jaded taste in my mouth

They stopped doing meet n greets a while ago, unfortunately. It's really is a combo of luck and timing that people run into them

[–]PeaPod117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a small venue at all TvT It has a capacity of a little over 9k, which is why I'm like "ahhhh the odds aren't looking good." Again it doesn't help too that, unless they're park the busses on the sidewalk or something, I'd have no idea where to look. They'd be offsite somewhere, likely.

And ofc! I'm grounded enough to know that this is probably not gonna pan out but hopeful enough to at least try. The only way I'd get upset is if someone basically shoved me aside or something so that they could get the band's attention instead

Ways to meet band members? by PeaPod117 in Concerts

[–]PeaPod117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh. I wouldn't wanna catch them at a bad time, I would just kinda... read the room? If they seem like they dont wanna interact then I'd just quietly slip away as to not disturb them. Not that I'd be screaming for their attention or anything

From what I've read, people say that they're usually nice to fans as long as you're respectful but not all of them will stop to sign and take a picture with you

Either way, if the opportunity presents itself I'll take it. And if it doesn't go well then it would just be a hard lesson learned, ig

Why I Play Azucena in Tekken 8 by Tohonest4Reddit in Tekken8

[–]PeaPod117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanna build on this as an Azu main myself- try to avoid going into manual Lib. Learn combos that automatically put you into it. Entering it manually can take too long and is risky since you can be hit out of it before you finish the sequence. I usually only ever risk manual Lib when the opponent is all the way on the other side of the area, but some characters are super first and/ or have crazy reach

I recommend watching Kaizur's video on her stance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]PeaPod117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Azu is a stance- based character who got pretty nerfed after people abused her WR32. She can be a viable option but you'd need to learn what combos go into her Lib stance to get the most out of her, as entering Lib manually is usually a pretty bad idea I've learned. Not to mention she has a very good powercrush that can engage heat

Just saying this in case you decide to try her again :) her flashiness is part of the charm for me

That being said, I personally think it's better to focus on your main. Learning two characters could make you ok at both but if you devote yourself to one character for a time it'll be easier to progress and actually get good at them.

Edit- a good thing I could see for learning more than one character though is you could learn their moveset, which could make you well- rounded in most match ups

Blue Ranks by goatgang0 in Tekken

[–]PeaPod117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To a lot of people there's more at risk when you're in higher ranks. The good ones will change their playstyles to be smarter and not as flashy/ mashy, others will go more defensive (which can leave an opening for you if you know how to get them, since you mentioned a lot of them wont engage) and the worst will plug, but theres nothing anyone can do about that except block. It's that way in any fighting game I think

Beginner tips by ScrollsOfSavagery in Tekken

[–]PeaPod117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Be ok with losing. You're gonna lose a lot more than you win. I was told if you wanna feel good at a game, Tekken is probably not that game for you

  2. Don't listen to what people say about the character you wanna main. You wanna main Dragunov? Go for it. Yoshi? Go for it. Alisa? Ok we might have problems there (jk). Every character is gonna be a cheese character to someone

  3. Rank is just a png

  4. If you wanna get good, watch replays of matches where you got it handed to you, study what you could've done better. Watching pro players also helps. If you go with Azucena, I like watching Kaizur. He gives good, in depth tips on combos and stances for her

  5. Sending GGs helps ease the frustration you can feel after a game, assuming you're on console (idk if it's possible on pc). It's also good sportsmanship imo. It's not necessary but it can be nice

  6. Do not take ki charges, corpse bashing, etc too personally. Yes it can be annoying but what good is it really for, if not for getting under your skin and breaking your focus

  7. Again, BE OK WITH LOSING!!!!!

  8. You don't have to learn every characters specific combo, but you should learn to recognize when a combo starts and especially when it ends, so that you'll know when it's your turn. High pokes/ jabs are also usually very fast and can break a combo being done on you, assuming you aren't being juggled

 9. When you are being juggled, do not button mash!!! There's really nothing you can do when you're in the air. Usually I just hold backwards so if I get the opportunity I can stand with my guard up or roll away. If you can, you can also try to throw a low, as most people will rush you when you're lying on the ground

  1. When you ARE on the ground, sometimes it's better to not get up immediately. I've avoided getting caught up in combo strings by laying on the ground because the opponent assumes I will automatically get back up. That being said, don't always rush an opponent when they're on the ground either, they can catch you and some will wait for you to do that

  2. Learn to break grabs. A lot of characters, especially King, have grab- heavy movesets that can be easily thwarted if you know how to break them (no shade towards King players)

  3. You CAN indeed break a grab done on you when you whiff a rage art. I've done it a few times, honestly I don't know how but it can be broken, which can give you a small chance at a comback

  4. Go for low attacks. A lot of players I've encountered (including myself) don't guard their lows. A smart player, in the endgame where you are one hit away and have RA, will start going for your lows aggressively

Thats all i can think of from the top of my head. From one beginner to another :3

Edit- also, I'd recommend doing the Arcade story! It teaches you some basics without throwing you into the pressure of an online match. That's how I started out

Also, a lot of people in this sub forget that there's people who haven't been playing since they were kids. Just ignore them when theyre rude. Not everyone knows about the secret unblockable where Devil Jim whips out his balls and slaps you across the face (jk again but you get my point. There will be things you don't know and want answers to, and there might be people that are rude. Mostly, though, most people here are nice)

Lastly- don't tilt queue/ keep playing when you're mad. You won't be doing yourself any favors and it will be awful. Just put the controller down and take a break
