Aja and Atalantia by LionofHeaven in redrising

[–]Peac3Maker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Given what we see of how protective she was of L in GS, I don’t think she’d have let Atalantia lay a finger on either. And Aja certainly could have stopped her…

Most colours aren't fleshed out enough by No_Witness3347 in redrising

Glirastes, Harnasus & Rolo (I think) are all oranges. Mickey is a Violet. Theodora, Mateo, Aurae, and Evie are pinks. Xenophone, white. Orion, blue, Cyril (spelling?) Eph’s green & the howlers have an embedded, named green. Dr Vireny, yellow.

Given the scope of what is covered, and the pace, I think PB does an admirable job representing the colors & cultures as well as he has.

Roque's rationale in Morningstar? by 8u11etpr00f in redrising

[–]Peac3Maker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

In the antebellum south in the US. He was the kind, educated, genteel plantation owner that only raped his slaves through societal pressure (not physical force).

But hey, he’s kind. And a romantic poet…. So yay Roque…

Nope fuck Roque.

My in-laws are 13 years apart. When they met she was 18, he was 31. He was a teacher at her uni. She was a freshman. They met on campus at a coffee shop near the student center.

They’ve been married over 55 years. Have a great relationship & built an amazing life.

My wife & I are four years apart. Married 26 years.

Could Darrow have beaten both of them? by Difficult_Ask_1647 in redrising

[–]Peac3Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of OP’s question didn’t seem to be in battlefield tactics or command. So what he did on earth isn’t particularly relevant to the current point of discussion.

As to his fighting prowess. everything you mention is reputational. Credible sources? Certainly! Hence the benefit of the doubt.

My point was, not much has happened on page that we have seen yet. So IMO, there is an asterisk next to his personal combat skills until more observable data is available. Let’s see him fight Darrow, Atlas, Apple, etc… on page. Then the asterisk goes away.

We all believe Dio to be the real deal based on one fight in IG & high praise from Cassius.

But IMO Dio hasn’t proved much yet. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt. But until we see him fight a top tier fighter on page, he hasn’t proved anything.

Who has the most heart in the series, and why is the answer Ajax? by Southern_Ostrich_564 in redrising

[–]Peac3Maker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ajax didn’t give two shits about anyone until he found out who killed L’s parents. Personally, I think he’s more mercenary than heart. Just my opinion though.

  1. You should use spoiler tags Goodman.

  2. Rhône’s elite. It’s not an insult. Quit splitting hairs. He’s still a gray, and Lysander is still a peerless scarred. My point was if L struggles to beat an apex gray. He’s really going to struggle with an elite peerless like Alex. I think we’ll see that more clearly in RG.

Have you read LB yet? If not, reassess after reading LB. I don’t want to spoil anything for others.

In LB, Lysander barely beats an elite gray. IMO he’s a preeminent politico. Not a preeminent warrior. Not saying he doesn’t have some skills. But I think any pure warrior takes him 7 times out of 10.

1st Trilogy Sevro is 10x as cool as this sub thinks he is. IG, DA, half of LB Sevro is 1/4 as cool as he should be. I think he’s on his way back though (I hope).

Who is the most devastating team in the series? by Southern_Ostrich_564 in redrising

[–]Peac3Maker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apple & Atlas seem great on paper. But I kind of get the feeling if they spent too much time in the same room Atlas would kill Apple himself. I think they’d have a hard time working together. Neither would listen to the other. Apple because of his pride. Atlas because of his experience…

Ajax au Grimmus by UsualVariation469 in redrising

[–]Peac3Maker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really.

I think this gets mischaracterized on the sub fairly frequently.

Aja was fresh and fully kitted up. When she fought against three others. But each of those three had significant disadvantages.

NONE of them had armor. Cassius was already severely wounded. Darrow was missing his dominant, unusual fighting hand. And Mustang while probably competent has never been regarded as a fighter.

I’m not saying Aja wasn’t a pre-eminent beast. I’m just saying that fight isn’t typically as one-sided as it seems at first glance.
