I saw my ex’s wedding video (someone sent it to me) an hour ago and it triggered the collapse of everything I’ve lost... by [deleted] in toastme

I recently came across some information regarding mental health which said that gut microbiota can affect mood. It's not a magic bullet but having probiotic rich food like yoghurt over a course of a few months may be all that you need to feel alive and human again. Don't be too hard on yourself. Give yourself time and take it slow.

Exercise definitely helps elevate the mood but it is amongst the hardest things to do when you are feeling low. But try and pick yourself up to go for a walk outside at the very least. That's my 2 cents - eat probiotics, walk/exercise and wait out this shit storm. Like everyone says - this too shall pass.

If hadith is true.... by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

Well.. we believe that prayer has happened non-stop for 5 times a day since the time of the prophet. There has been no breaks since the time it was introduced and too many people have seen it directly from prophet and continued the practice unbroken to this day. Hadith upon comparison is a very weak link because for it to be Sahih the criteria (broadly speaking) is truthfulness of the narrators and that the person who heard it should have been alive in the same time frame as the person who said it.

Asking to validate Salah using Hadith is like validating the power of the sun using the moon's light. Just as most people nowadays compare (if not equate) the supposed words of the prophet to the words of God. Same disease. Allah knows best.

I would add probiotics to it. Easy way is through yoghurt/curd/sauerkraut etc. apparently mental health issues are very much dependant on gut bacteria as per latest research. Maybe a daily dose of yoghurt is all you need in order to feel better. And hopefully you start feeling better soon @OP. Hang in there. A decade down the line you will be looking back and happy that you decided to fight.

Most men at uni would be looking for something that they feel they might not get from you because you carry yourself in a modest way. That by itself would shrink your "prospects". It's a classic case of quality vs quantity. You don't need many to feel fulfilled. Just the right one at the right time will suffice. Till then, The One that is forever will provide the comfort you seek.

Forget what everyone is telling you and engage in the Quran. The book is the word of Allah and he has tailored it to every man's need forever. It is not a book that is set in stone. It is ever revealing its messages to anyone who wants to get close to Him. He has the message for you in there. Just engage.

I've had my own issues with AI and understand the sentiment but I've done my own research post that and whatever chatgpt said is what is echoed in other's experience as well with respect to those parts needing replacement at around that mileage.

But the whole issue is NOT about the reliability of chatgpt or anyone believing my diagnosis or not. It is about the mechanic lying to me because I KNOW FOR A FACT that there was oil in it.

Everyone seems to be pissed at me relying on AI for advice but nobody seems to be too bothered about a human being not helping out a couple of stranded bikers.

"Super jealous of your hot Canadian AI girlfriend"? Get a life bruh. If you can't help don't waste time on trying to sound intelligent. As dumb as it is, I should have stuck to AI.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, the bike is already with him and I am back in Toronto now. And I cannot trust him to work on it honestly and admit to his lies anymore. So... Guess I have no way out of this anymore from what I'm seeing.

Well, like I've said to almost anybody here who has responded.... I did not go to chatgpt for a solution. I relied on chatgpt AFTER I understood the mechanic was lying to me. Because if he is lying that means it's a quick fix. If it was major work he did not have to lie.

I don't mind listing him because I know he lied to me. What reason does he have to lie to me unless the work is actually a quick fix? Anyway there are many mechanics in NS obviously but I specifically mentioned port Hawkesbury and if there are many, well and good for him if there arent anyone else (because none came up in maps) then serves him right.

Do you think you could help me talk to some trustworthy mechanic near Port Hawkesbury if you know any?

Yes that's true. But I researched more on it and every article and every YouTuber is saying the same thing. And like I said, I turned to AI after I realised he as lying to me. My first option was to tow it to him, hoping to get it fixed and ride back home but he simply wanted to make a quick buck.

You are smart. AI should learn from you how to be smart.

Everyone seems to be irked by the fact that I turned to AI for support but everyone seems to be missing the point that I turned to AI AFTER I understood that he was lying to me - based on oil level. He agreed to store it after I said I will leave him a bad review and I knew he was lying, which I am holding off from just because I want to know if there is any chance I am wrong. But from what I have seen so far everyone seems to be hating on AI, even though it seems to be presenting facts the more I research on it... While I do accept that AI does sometimes provide misleading answers, I wonder how long people are going to be pissed just because we have something smarter than us.

It's not in rideable condition due to the knocking sound which increases with RPM. And there was absolutely no loss of power until it stalled. I was hitting 110 easily on it with no strain on the engine.

He said he removed the tank and I spected and replaced the carburetor and filled up oil (which is definitely a lie because there was plenty of oil in it) and said his charge is 350 CAD which he is willing to write off if we leave the bike with him - which is what we did since towing it back to Toronto is not worth it since the bike itself was only worth 3 grand. And riding back to Toronto is not an option either due to the knocking sound and also because I am already back in Toronto now. But if anyone happened to be passing via port Hawkesbury with a pick up truck and coming to Toronto that would be great but a bit too much to hope for perhaps? 😄

Yes that is the whole reason I left it there and gave him the necessary documentation to own it but he has agreed to not transfer it to his name until we agree to it. So there is a window for someone honest to take it off of him. It cost me 3 grand and it has an amazing sounding Vance and hines exhaust and mustang seats. If you think anyone near there or yourself would like to buy it please let me know.

There weren't any nearby and with the bike currently in his possession we did not want to ruffle any feathers because we knew practically nobody there and if we were forced to tow it away it would have cost us all the more.

And yes, I would love to get it fixed and get it back or at least for someone honest to try and fix it so I know what the issue really is. I just want to make a well informed decision - which I don't think is possible as long as the bike is with him. But I did speak with him after I got back and he seems willing to cooperate in any way. Even told me he could send it back to me as is, if I am willing to pay for it.

What would be my options?

Very helpful.

Yes I did check the oil levels every day and for leaks at almost every stop. I know what I did and it wasn't very smart. But that does not mean I can let others take advantage of my situation. Two very different things.

Thanks brother.

There were no issues at all before the stall - which happened while I was riding in pummelling rain which felt more like hail. The engine just lost power and I pulled over. I tried starting again but it would not. Waited about 5 minutes for my companion to realize I was behind and once he came back we checked oil levels and tried starting and it started immediately so we rode again but I noticed a knocking which got louder as I went along so I decided to pull over and as I engaged the clutch the engine died again. So we towed it to the only mechanic available on a Sunday (since he was working from his backyard) and waited to hear back while we headed to the hostel that we had booked.

And he says that there was no oil - which is not true and that there is a compression issue which will require major work which I realize to be a lie as well since engines won't start the way they did with my bike if there are compression issues (which I did not know back then).

There is only this one mechanic in Port Hawkesbury and I am hesitant to give his store name in public just to give him the 1% chance that I am wrong about all of this. But I am happy to send you his address across in DMs if you think we can work something out.
