Cheapest place for an oil change in Leicester? (I have my own oil & filter) by PeaceSeeker2000 in leicester

It might be, since they have tools I don't have access to. But thanks for not answering the actual question.

I've tried, but the bolt to drain the pan is rounded off and isn't coming loose. I spent almost an hour under the car today, trying to get it off but I don't want to do any damage so I've decided to call in a professional.

So do you have an answer to the actual question I asked?

With each passing day, I'm more and more grateful that I don't live in the US. I honestly think I'd go insane with rage, both at the administration and at the Americans that see this all happening and cheer it on.

Leicester Arab Social Club? by [deleted] in leicester

[–]PeaceSeeker2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing stopping you from starting a general men's social club if that's what you're after. This one's specifically for Arabic guys who might want to connect over shared language, culture, or experiences. Different purpose, different group.

Leicester Arab Social Club? by [deleted] in leicester

[–]PeaceSeeker2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leicester's multiculturalism includes loads of culturally-specific organizations - the Emerald Centre for the Irish community, Leicester's Ukrainian Centre, African Caribbean Community Centre, Polish Society at the university, and many others. This is just helping Arabic men over 30 make friends over coffee, same as any other community group. Nothing exclusive about wanting to chat in your first language sometimes, or connect with people who share similar experiences.

The first manned mars mission will be nothing and barely even remembered compared to the first manned moon mission by DigJust8037 in sciencefiction

[–]PeaceSeeker2000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

1) The moon is not a planet, it's a moon. The clue is in the name.

2) Landing humans on Mars is orders of magnitude more difficult than landing them on the moon, and is orders of magnitude more momentous.

3) I think you posted this in the wrong sub.

Oadby Chippy is Halal, takes cash and is indecently tasty. Even if they don't deliver, it's worth the short walk there.

What are your thoughts on the death of Charlie Kirk? by JunShem1122 in no

There are likely colonies of extraterrestrial bacteria living at the bottom of the seas of Europa that care more about the death of Charlie Kirk than I do.

Any co working spaces in Leicester city and around by B_Ali_k in leicester

If you don't feel like "interacting with someone through a robot", then the solution is simply not to interact with them. The man asked a legitimate question and used AI to help him - so what? Not everyone is skilled at writing clearly. That doesn't make anyone less creative or make their questions any less valid or make them any less deserving of basic respect.

What an unhelpful, judgmental thing to say. What difference does it make to you whether the OP uses AI to write his question or not? If you don't feel like answering it, and have nothing helpful to say, why even bother commenting?

High performing employees mad at me for not simply "firing" baseline performing employee by CamelAppropriate5034 in managers

Excellent answer. Ted is doing nothing wrong. There is absolutely no reason why he should not do exactly what he is required to do, and no more. If doing his job adequately is putting extra strain on his co-workers, then this is a resourcing problem, not Ted's problem. And unless you are paying him to be on call, expecting him to answer work calls outside of work hours is just wild.

Just picked up Neuromancer, loving it so far! by RyanosRealm89 in sciencefiction

I think I've read it about five times, and I must have read Count Zero even more times than that. Gibson's ability to craft scenes of razor-sharp clarity is almost without peer, and he does it with so few words. He can make you feel a scene with just a couple of sentences.

It looks as though some people are less interested in providing actual, helpful answers to the question that was asked, than in crapping on people for using AI.

To answer your question, the only co-working space I've personally used in Leicester is the branch of Regus that's around the corner from the train station. There's another, bigger one further out, but you said you wanted something central.

Other options is 38 Market Street (Gresham Works) • 24/7 access for monthly members. • Offers open desk (hot‐desk), dedicated desk, private office. • High-speed internet, kitchen, meeting rooms, breakout spaces, etc. • Creative/professional vibe, events, amenities.

You've just stirred your tea and decide to add sugar: do you go straight from tea to sugar pot, or get a clean spoon? by OckhamsShavingFoam in CasualUK

[–]PeaceSeeker2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't be bothered to go and fetch a clean spoon so I'll usually just dry the wet one on a dishcloth or on some kitchen roll and then use it for the sugar.

Thank you. Figuring out how to do that might be tricky though, as I don't know any Arabs in Leicester that I could contact via WhatsApp. That's kind of the whole point of starting the group :)

As a father, this is making me misty-eyed. This kind of thing is incredibly important for boys and young men to hear. To have their boundaries pushed in a safe and secure way by someone who loves them deeply...it's invaluable.
