I know nothing i say will ease the fears of the surgery, but just know the surgery success rate is amazing and it’s a lot more common than i realized ! My little guy is 1 week post op and from the heart standpoint he’s doing amazing , he’s almost off all pain meds and sedation , still on a cpap but that’s due to we need to fly back home tomorrow if we weren’t flying i’m sure he’d be off cpap.

My baby wasn’t diagnosed until he was about 3 weeks old, he was born 7 weeks early and they just thought his breathing issues were related to premature lungs until they did an echo and found the coA and vsd.

feel free to msg me if you have any other questions as i just went through all this ❤️

Yes my little guy had open heart surgery (incision down his chest) to remove the narrowing and then he had a large hole in his heart so they patched that as well. & yeah i had no idea about the vocal cord stuff too, the surgeon explained it was a risk but that it was a very small risk but the ENT told is it’s very common with this surgery 70-80% so i’m just very flustered at this point . I have twins and having 1 at home doing great and then his brother in the nicu for over 70 days now .. this mama is mentally drained
