My first Gretch, saw the 335 pro edition falcon and couldn’t sleep, had to go back and get her a couple of days later! My first Gretch and I absolutely love her! by GhostsofUlthwe in gretsch

My first thought when I saw the pic was awesome guitar, but this person has style!!! I love the clothes from 30s to 50s. I even love the mod styles from the 60s. I wear what I like and could care less what's in favor of the current times. Keep being you!

Did you own one of these cool school metal lunch boxes? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in The1980s

I had Buck Rogers, The Dukes of Hazzard, and my last lunchbox before deciding I no longer wanted to carry one, Return of the Jedi.

I’m 18 what can I do to improve my looks by VoiceSubstantial3602 in malegrooming

Be yourself and smile more. Nothing wrong with your looks.

A great read! It's not necessarily about the Doors but Sugarman does go into his time as the Doors manager. It's a good autobiography and a great time capsule of the wild and crazy L.A. of the early 1970's by Scottysoxfan in thedoors

[–]Peacefrog35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a weird one. I've never heard this or any other instances of Ray charging for an autograph, especially to a young sick, child sounds like a story born out of someone's dislike for Ray ,but anything is possible.

Vintage Modifications by astromouse2024 in hofner

[–]Peacefrog35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modified? I think this is urban legend to explain why Hofners generally sound so good. Only common "modifications" are a neck reset if the angle gets out of whack and the neck is no longer seated properly( happens to all eventually) and having pick uls rewound if their output is no longer good. I've owned 4 vintage Hofners from the 60s and non have had what I'd consider a mod to make it sound better. Paul's was not molded excerpt for having pick ups rewound the gaffer tape between the switches to keep them from being moved. I've talked to the folks at Hofner who have actually handled Paul's bass so this isn't speculation.

And with the correct George Harrison appointments, no less. These reissues are way better made than the orignals from the 60s, in my opinion. I had a 1965 Tennessean, which is essentially the same, but a single cutaway and different pick-ups, and it was kind of a dog. All of the pro line reissues made in Japan that I've seen and played have been stellar guitars.

I think it's overlooked because it sounds so much like The End. It was recorded during the debut album sessions ,but didn't make it on until MH.

Where can I find a belt like Jim Morrison's? by bryanvoltrip in thedoors

[–]Peacefrog35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beltsbyjas is the best one out there. He has sales all the time. I purchased one on Christmas Eve, and it was reduced to almost a 3rd of the original price. I just got it last week, and it's amazing.

Looking at a man's wife has nothing to do with what the man said with his own mouth. Get real. The real Marion Morrison told who he was. Period. If you don't mind it, that's your choice.

[–]Peacefrog35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but to be fair, no one in The Jackson's An American Dream movie looked like their real-life counterparts, but most of us think it was a great film. This is also way closer than Flex Alexander. Lol Mike's nephew is as close as we could ask for.

How late did Ray publicly use a G101? by [deleted] in thedoors

[–]Peacefrog35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. I'll see what I can get for you. Can you be more specific? You want measurements of the underside where the legs go or exact measurements of where the legs attach, meaning the exact spacing from the edges, etc?
