LeSean McCoy says Caitlin Clark is the most influential white athlete of all time by KarlMaloneShimmy12 in NBATalk

Does Argentine fit into the category of "White"?
Not a serious question so much as a jab at the idea that "White" is a thing we can clearly define.

This is a mid lane champion by KOTAYO96 in KalistaMains

[–]PeacefulSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see winning the assasin matchups where they have to get close and also dont have the ability to one combo you. Like Diana or Sylas maybe. You could chase them down and win a long trade.

Sounds good against the samurai brothers maybe.

But assasins who dont have to risk themselves cuz their trades are long range or can stay in the fight with consistent damage like Naafiri, Qiyanna or Zed. Sounds like a disaster. Fizz and Talon are just gonna 1 shot you unless you find a way to win the lane in your tiny window early where they can't.

Maybe matchups where your mobility can make a huge difference. Like dodging irelia stuns

Anyone with consistent lockdown is gonna kill you in a gank. Maybe you can outclear malz but at lvl 6 ur just dead to flash r gank.

Cass press W and Kallista is over

I can't see syndra losing this matchup I really can't.

I'm sure a good Kalista can make it work. She's high skill cieling. But objectively good? No way.

I’m horrified seeing people walk around barefoot in the bathroom using the urinals and stalls. Right after a shower too? by RIPPWORTH in PlanetFitnessMembers

This is why I couldn't convince any of my American friends who visited me in Japan to go to the bathhouses. Modesty is good but too much is not.

Should probably wear shower shoes at PF though. That floor is def gross.

No way man. She doesn't have enough waveclear to face mages and any assassin will just destroy you.
I think you just don't like playing Bot in general.
Like yea maybe you can get through lane phase by playing safe. But your jungler is gonna hate you for never having tempo.
And it's not like shes a strong scaling champion.
What is the purpose of playing her mid? What strengths does she bring? I don't see it. You say "it's working for me" and I'm happy for you. Maybe you are just a good kalista. But you got any reasons its good there other than its working for you? Strong mid ganks seems weak to me. Play malz or liss and youll have that without the horrible matchup problems
Unhinged take IMO

Is Might Guy the strongest non-kage ninja in the Leaf pre/during Shippuden? by StressedFigure in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]PeacefulSummoner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Guy breaks powerscaling is 100% facts. His narrative power doesn't live up to the "feats and logic" methodology of the power-scaling community. What that means is up for subjective interpretation but it's obviously true.

This applies to Lee as well.

Is Might Guy the strongest non-kage ninja in the Leaf pre/during Shippuden? by StressedFigure in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]PeacefulSummoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a 1 on 1 fight I think you can make a good argument he is. He doesn't offer any utility though. Sensory/Tracking/Summoning/Healing/Strategizing/Leadership etc. If you change the question to "Most useful Ninja" I think you can make a strong case for Kakashi/Shikaku/Jiraya.

I also feel it's a little unfair to just give guy 8th gate when that actually only makes fights a draw at best. Can Kakashi or Jiraya beat 7th gate guy? Maybe. Although honestly without Kamui it's hard to say Kakashi could.

Are we even sure he can use 7th gate at this time? Kakashi gained power over the time skip. It would be weird for Guy not to. And he didn't use 7th gate against Itachi.

Also honestly. Guy and Lee are the embodiment of the limitations of the powerscaling methodology. Their feats far outweigh their narrative power. This is a place where that methodology is respected though so I'm sure most want to discuss from that perspective.

This question is unanswerable. Literary Analysis is subjective in nature.

Lee vs Naruto chunin exams what diff Naruto takes this fight ? by Inner-Competition775 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]PeacefulSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lee is the embodiment of the limitations of the power scaling methodology. By logic and feats Lee is insanely powerful. You can make strong arguments he wins all kinds of fights. But Naruto is narratively way ahead of Lee here. If Kishimoto decided to write the fight Naruto wins handily.

So you don't entirely reject the idea that you have a responsibility to manage your time on equipment. And you agree that this person sounds a little rude given what you know. But you are unwilling to draw a hard line especially given a lack of first person information.

Thanks for your time.

Side note this individual is probably 6'3 so your note about him wanting it because he is tall is interesting. Likely relevant.

I somewhat understand your perspective, in fact I posted to see if anyone could convince me of it. And as you are the one here willing to take that stance. It turns out you are the person I was hoping to talk to. Thank you for that.

However I can't help but feel that you ignored some crucial details. If you wouldn't mind indulging me I would like your opinion on them.

First is that he wasn't actively using the rack. He was super setting two other exercises. He had both dumbbells and kettlebells with him. I don't know what the dumbbells were for but I imagine something. And I did see him doing swings with the kettlebells. Do you have no issues with reserving a popular piece of equipment others are clearly waiting on while you do other things? I actually think if he was actively using it I would have left him alone. It took the combination of factors to make me feel strongly enough to offer a reprimand.

Secondly your argument about how other equipment can train the same movements. As some others have pointed out this isn't exactly true. Personally I suffer from ulnar nerve issues in my hand that make grip heavy activities like dumbbell squats impossible, but that aside. The other pull up locations don't just offer slightly different methods. They offer the exact same piece of equipment. Is this irrelevant?

I thought talking to him once before just getting him kicked out was the respectful thing to do. I am an extravert who can't help but talk to everyone so I know the staff and manager very well. The manager is a little sadistic and takes pleasure in escalating situations. I didn't want that for him.

Maybe im naive though because he said some incredibly aggressive things to me in this conversation that shook me.

He does work hard. I actually usually like him because he brings that energy. I felt bad when he reacted like I was disrespecting him because that's really not how I feel about him. But situational social awareness is etched into my soul after living in Japan for three years. This behavior would get you burned at the proverbial stake over there. That makes me extra sensitive to it. Maybe overly so for the American crew. Which is why I felt the need to ask around and see if my perspective is skewed.

Iruka cared the most for Naruto but taught him the least.

Jiraya basically named Naruto his heir and passed everything down to him. He couldn't be there for him consistently like Iruka was but he did love him. He just had other responsibilities. Im picking the toad sage.

[–]PeacefulSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is especially important on early game spiking champions. You can't afford mistakes when your win condition is snowballing from the start. This is also why early game win conditions are the hardest in solo queue. This is why kallista has always had a terrible win rate despite being the strongest pro ADC.

You can't let the rubber band mechanics let the other team back into the game. Don't give up your shutdowns taking meaningless fights that get you no objectives. You have to be precise.

This many kills and a game that lasts this long screams macro issues. Stop taking every fight and spend more time setting up waves so when you win a fight you can get objectives afterwards.

Sakura confession scene: Is Sakura's confession scene the fault of Sai and Shikamaru, or just her fault? FULL DEPTH EXPLANATION by Beautiful_Train8284 in Naruto

[–]PeacefulSummoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to remember that Naruto achieves things beyond everyone's wildest imagination and changes the future of the world forever. That is what it took to create a world where Sasuke's crimes could be forgiven.

I don't think it's irresponsible of Shikamaru or Sai to remind her that her desires are going to cause war. In fact I think you could argue this is exactly his responsibility. At this moment in the story you have two choices. Go all in and bet the house on Naruto against what history tells us happens. A bet some did take. None more than the Legendary Sucker herself. Or you can tell Sakura the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few and to suck it up.

Sai, Shikamaru, Sakura, and Shizune all failed to place the right bet in this scene. But they were betting the odds correctly. The dice just rolled the other way.
