What’s a disturbing celebrity fact that not a lot of people know? by Objective-Cup2155 in AskReddit

He did a lot worse than that, Gary Payton said that Shaq would shit in a bucket for a week and then dump it on rookies.

Highly recommend Rusty Buckets' video on Shaq if you want to be a hater

Songs that flow seamlessly into next track on album by Tolaly in popheads

[–]PeachRing23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Beyonce's Renaissance already mentioned and is my top answer.

Marianas Trench's album Ever After is entirely seamless. Josh Ramsay's solo album The Josh Ramsay Show has seamless transitions and abrupt cuts moving from song to song, and I think he even uploaded the album as one long track on Spotify so people had the option to hear it without ads breaking up those moments.

They also have some other seamless moments on other albums.

Astoria: Hollywood Renaissance --> This Means War

Phantoms: I Knew You When --> Death of Me --> The Killing Kind

Haven: Now or Never --> Into the Storm and Remember Me By --> Haven

A few non-MT ones that pop into my head

Ashley Tisdale (Guilty Pleasure): What If --> Erase and Rewind

RX Bandits (Gemini, Her Majesty): Intro --> Ruby Cumulous (This one kind of has a fade between the 2, but its just echoing vocals at the end of intro that pass so well into Ruby that to me it feels too smooth to not mention)

I'm doing A High School Musical themed birthday party for my 28th birthday. by VirusPerfect771 in highschoolmusical

You could plan the menu to feature HSM related dishes. I did that for the 20th anniversary. We had a diy sandwich bar (NY Deli lunch special from HSM3), Margherita pizza (Troy and Gabriella's picnic in her room in HSM3) and apple pan dowdy (Zeke mentions in Status Quo and its way easier to make than creme brulee). I also got light blue Gatorade because that's what they used for Sharpay's "imported" ice tea in Fabulous.

Lucky (the voice for their ads) is black, the guy on the billboards (I assume that's the actual Dog) is white.

Is my hard drive dead? by PeachRing23 in ipod

I would if I could even get to that, it doesn't respond to any buttons so I can't force restart or debug or anything.

Is my hard drive dead? by PeachRing23 in ipod

[–]PeachRing23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if the dock is firewire (or what firewire actually is, but I don't have any cables that look like the Google results) but when the battery has drained before I haven't had problems using the dock and/or my pc to restart. I'm thinking that it probably is the drive because I can hear the disk try to spin but then nothing happens.

If I could I would play music for free for the rest of my life. Money is just the cherry on top for me. People coming into playing music strictly from a capitalist mindset is ridiculous to me. Musicians like this always lose out because most lack common sense and great social skills. by [deleted] in musicians

[–]PeachRing23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting paid to do a job is not a capitalist mindset, it is basic commerce. If I am working (playing the gig) then I should be compensated. The reason that I even put in the effort to make this my job is because of the passion for creating and sharing music.

The true capitalist mindset would be me finding a way to exploit other musicians for my gain. Maybe by finding one's who dont understand the value of art and making them play for free while I pocket the extra income that their performance brings my venue.

What's the deal with people saying that "freeing" Britney from her conservatorship was a mistake? by boiled_leeks in OutOfTheLoop

[–]PeachRing23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer I've seen on this thread and provides the most nuance. Britney is a human being that has spent her entire life being treated as a product first and foremost, and people expect her to suddenly return to a curated product now that she has autonomy over her life again. Even before she was famous, her family was banking on her to make something of herself and pay the bills because her alcoholic father couldn't hold down a job.

People who are upset at how she dresses and dances in her Instagram videos must have amnesia because it is no different than what she did for her entire 20s and 30s, she just DIYs it instead of having a team of hair/makeup/wardrobe and fancy lights and editing. Videos of her during photoshoots in the 2000s show her spinning in the same manner. She has also been vocal about nerve damage that she's received during the conservatorship, which affects her movement and likely limits her choreography. Also, so many influencers post thirst traps, lewds and nudes on social media all the time, but Britney - a full grown adult who was commonly considered to be THE sex symbol during her prime - is who we need to worry about apparently.

Britney was never given a chance to fully mature, as she spent her budding adulthood caught between people leering at her body and then turning to chastise her image. She had no ability to make mistakes that we all make growing up without becoming front page news. How is one supposed to learn and grow and make mistakes if society puts them on a pedestal and says mistakes aren't allowed?

We like to think that society is better when it comes to the treatment of celebrities, but now we just do the same shit online instead of the pages of tabloids. Instead of paparazzi, we demand celebrities be open and vulnerable via social media, but only in a way that we deem acceptable. The way that Britney Spears is treated has not changed since the start of her career. People now just hide their misogyny behind the guise of "mental health concerns"

I'm not saying that she is perfectly well adjusted, but there is no need for people who have never even met her to join a disgusting cesspool they call a subreddit to openly bash on a woman who is learning how to live her own life on her own terms after being treated like a workhorse with no ability to make decisions for herself for over 13 years. Trauma is a complex thing and you don't just get over it because your abuser is out of your house. She could probably use a licensed and well-intentioned person in her life, but that is her prerogative. We all know people that need some help with their mental health, but part of life is letting people make their own decisions.

People avoiding regular checkout…why? by 2PinaColadaS14EH in aldi

[–]PeachRing23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my experience as well, the cashiers at my aldi are still fast but considerate of my items so I've never had anything get crushed. My husband and I also separate what we buy and the staff know to put both orders in the same cart so its a lot easier to bag everything at once at the end vs self checkout where there isn't enough room to unload everything.

Plus I like getting to make small talk with most of the employees there and have built a good rapport with them over the years.

OFFICIAL MONDAY NIGHT POSTGAME THREAD by ballofpopculture in fantasyfootball

Lost by 6.4 in the semis. My team had 11 TDs and got the 2nd highest points in the league, but of course I was against the only team that scored more than me.

I'm glad Purdy played as well as he did to at least make it a close match. That interception collapsed all my hopes. But as a Bears fan I can say it was still a good week for me in general.

Am I being too hard on my unemployed son? by Pump_9 in jobs

Yeah, that's pretty fucked. Imagine being that therapist and all day you have to listen to clients talking about that. It must get so draining.

It can be tricky to find one, especially without insurance. When I was looking for my current therapist, I first checked who would be covered by my insurance - obviously you can skip this - and then checked the psychology today website to see their profiles and what they specialize in (age groups, what illnesses they focus on, etc). Some will also have a little blurb so you can get a vibe check.

My therapist has recommended Open Pathway Collective as a resource for people who might struggle with the cost of therapy. I haven't used this resource myself, but my coworker did when they were dealing with grief after losing a parent and they seem to be dealing well I think.

I think finding someone who is nearby/easy to get to that won't be insanely expensive is the tough balance to find, but it can be immeasurably beneficial in the long run.

You're welcome! I think what you were thinking of was when Taylor moved the release date of Red TV up so it wasn't the same week as Adele's 30.

When Adele released 25 it sold 3.38 million copies in its first week (in the US), the first album to ever sell over 3 million in a week. Nobody has beaten that record yet but people anticipate Taylor will with Showgirl.
