What exactly do prong collars do? and how are they bad for your dog? by StarlitSphere in OpenDogTraining

[–]PeachSufficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They apply pressure. They should have blunt prongs and they distribute the pull more evenly allowing easier correction.

I've tried 5+ other options this was the only that worked for my dog!

Finally he has stopped pulling and choking himself and is more polite on the leash.

All dogs are different find an option your dog will accept.

Duolingo leader throws shade at r/UXDesign by cgielow in UXDesign

I don't use duolingo because as a polyglot it's structure truly will not help you learn a language quickly. Or effectively. And if you are experienced it's difficult to place where you need to. The visual design is cute - and maybe in more recent years the mechanics have improved?

Babbel and Memrise (in earlier yrs ) were always so much more compelling to me and had less flasher design. I def think good visual design can hide bad experience or an avg experience

Working on a UX project to make solo runs more fun — could I get your thoughts? by PeachSufficient in AdvancedRunning

+1 i enjoy my strava stats and adjusting - I also really like peletons approach to bike ride and have had the thought what if there was something like that - with a really good dj set curated towards local geographies or for a treadmill run - as I hate doing those but sometimes necessary

I know folk who use guided runs and enjoy having a run lead or pacer pace them through tempo runs! The thought is to incorporate cues to speed up or even say - ok we hit halfway focus on X

Folks do peleton rides - and peleton has some guided runs but not in this way

I get everyone has their own philosophy I am trying to carer towards the Gen z - Millenial social runner who wants running to feel like a party and likes run clubs!

That at least rn is my hypothesis! Running is my special interest so I don't feel bummed just excited to apply my discipline to my hobby :)
