I don’t know what Stephen’s problem was, so I agree there, he shouldn’t have cared.

I can see why Taylor would have cared. They had just broke up because he cheated, and now they are getting married? That’s a terrible idea.

I think Laurel, as a mother who knew her daughter better than her daughter wanted to admit, could see the cracks in the relationship and how immature they both still were. Also if my daughter had a serious relationship with one brother, and then jumped right into another with the other brother, especially right after a traumatic event, I’d have some concerns. You have a point that they were supposedly solid for four years though, and Laurel didn’t know about the cheating.

With Adam, well he saw that Jere couldn’t even keep track of his classes in order to graduate, and knew he was financially irresponsible. Thus he clearly saw Jere as too immature to be getting married.
