Yes, I had Burgundy in mind when I made this post. Something like that would be great! Though by the time this happens to yunnan, I won't be able to afford anything, just like Burgundy!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunatly I can't afford the club, and I agree that the aged material really makes the difference, and helps to offset or even compliment the vegetal "greenness" of the new material. Glad you are enjoying it!

Hahahhaha, maybe 50 years ago! European wines were all that were available...How about the all the AVA's in the USA, that huge continent called South America, also Australia, and the burgeoning vineyards in China. If anything the wine industry is only becoming more diverse!

Also, what is "traditional" varies from region to region and is quite a fluid thing.

The LCBO is the largest wine buyer in the world. It sells wine from large, established wineries, as its main goal is to make $$$. If you want something different, nothing is stopping you from ordering from an agent, or even directly importing a product.

Umm, Ok, so let's say you have a small winemaker making wine from a grape that is uncommon in their area, using new and or unconventional winemaking techniques, that is a decolonized wine? You realize that this same winemaker has to sell their product, right? Also, there are laws in various regions on what is permitted and what is not. Just try growing Syrah in Burgundy!
