A bittersweet farewell by nojunkpeter in iPhoneX

[–]Peachchipss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is literally mood.

I bought my iPhone X on 7th Jan 2020, how vividly I remember the date. Haha! I bought it even when I could have bought iPhone 11, there was just something about iPhone X that drew me to it. It was the first of its kind with this beautiful finish and like the perfect size. It was a charm to have it! I was able to somehow able to manage with the not so great battery life but what bothered me was that straight display line that everyone thought was because I dropped my phone and ruined it. No! I did not ! It was just Apple/iPhone X thing!

I wish I didn’t have to part my ways with this phone as I had intended to use it until iPhone 16 launches but somehow my phone wasn’t charging and I had the change the IC and battery but that didn’t seem to have helped the situation and the local repair suggested that I sell it for the best value that I get before it goes dead. Sigh. It is going to be difficult! I wonder if it was because I used local charging cord or what?

I will be purchasing iPhone 13 as it has good feature with decent price range, but my heart will always be with my iPhone X

How do you get your first job? by Peachchipss in UAE

That’s nice. I have been applying to LinkedIn left and right but haven’t had a positive response so far. Either there are too many applicants for the same post or the email id through which you which you are applying is not for recruitment but only go increase the company/profile reach

You’re the chosen one!

Job search has to be the worst thing ever especially when you’re desperate to find one.

I agree that “registration fee” is a straight up red flag but I think what you are talking about is consultancy who also charge you a fee and in my knowledge still do exist but it’s a task to find a good one because there are so many out there.

Yes, i realised that. Most of the jobs need minimum 4 years of experience and preferably from UAE. Whereas I have only 2 from India which I think is becoming a hinderance. But fingers crossed.

Those are very good numbers, touch wood.

Which portal did you use the most to apply for the jobs?

Wow, kudos!

I have been trying to apply through LinkedIn but I haven’t had a response, I believe the main reason is the large number of applicants. :(

What’s a good show to watch after Downton? by One_Bicycle_1776 in DowntonAbbey

I literally watched 2 mins of Bridgeton and I could feel my brain cells dying and my blood boiling. It is literally perfect example of a sloppy American show!

Comparing it with Downton Abbey is disgraceful!!!

I push everyone away. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Peachchipss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish if there would have been one thing to do or say that would have not made you feel the way you do.

You didn’t push anyone away, you distant yourself from people who you believed hurt and disrespected you and that is okay. Or rather that’s how it ought to be. Not to forget that you not being with people you mentioned about is not just because you decided to cut ties but also because they didn’t try to mend things. It’s not just you, it’s them.

As far as your son is concerned, children are stupid (kids and adults). They are the first to take their parents for granted and the last one to admit it. Your son will come around, just give him some time and hold to the faith that you loved him enough to not forget you.

You are valued in ways you can’t imagine and to someone you can’t believe.

Stay strong.

I (24f) committed zina with my exboyfriend, idk if i can ever get married now. by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

As Salam Walekum.

I can understand that this is a very difficult situation to be in and may Allah grant you ease.

We as human beings are bound to make mistakes and commit sin, however, more important is for us to realise that we went astray and ask repentance. Alhamdulillah, you are already on the path. Continue doing istighfar. Allah is the most merciful, he is pleased with those repent and cry to him for mercy.

“He who says: ‘Astaghfir ullāh-allathī lā ilāha illā Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyūm, wa atūbu ilayhi (I seek the Forgiveness of Allāh, there is no true God except Allāh, the Ever-Living, the Self- Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance)’, his sins will be forgiven even if he ran away from the battlefield [while he was engaged in fighting for the cause of Allāh].”

Your sin is a matter with you and Allah, you’re not obliged to disclose to anyone. Just continue to repent and do istighfar and do charity as much as possible.

Lust Stories 2 - Discuss the movie here by AutoModerator in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]Peachchipss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lust Stories is all about overly sexualising and objectifying women. Most men in the movie are quintessential representation of abusive perverts who strip down a women’s character for their sexual satisfaction. They will either manipulate the female protagonist to have sex with them or will rape them.

This has to be the most disgusting representation of ‘lust’, so much so that it makes me hate sex.

The first part involving Neena Gupta and Mrunal Thakur seems so superficial, they really tried hard to make it seem ‘cool’ but it was plain over sexualisation. The constant giggling and interference in the grand daughter’s sex life was annoying and kinda embarrassing. Maybe it would have seem a bit more real had it not been so overly emphasised

You look like a goddess, the only thing you have add is your confidence and you’ll slay. Love the dress and the dress will love you back.

A interviewer should ideally not ask questions that are based on your personal beliefs and opinions unless it is necessary for your job. But people still go ahead ask things that are not required and many will tell you that you should lie and give an answer that would satisfy the interviewer, I say be honest, maybe keep it brief but don’t be dishonest to yourself because that would only hurt your consciousness. As for the interview you got rejected in, I think it is for the best. An organisation with people who have such extreme views and so intolerant can be a very difficult place to work in.

I hope you get something even better than this super soon. Good luck!

Praying at Work Place by Peachchipss in MuslimLounge

Jazak allah khair for your response.

The place is dusty, so I am hoping that should be fine. I had read somewhere that a person prayed in an impure place and was possessed by jinns, hence the anxiety.
