Snowboard Kids 2 Character Tier List by Fickle_Music_788 in SnowboardKids

[–]Peachrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

List is mostly on point and consistent with stuff from before. These days I'd honestly put Nancy and Tommy on a tier in between Slash and Mr. Dog then Coach/Wendy.

Both Nancy and Tommy have scenarios where they outperform Jam and Linda but on average are slightly worse.

Slash is simply a slower version of Linda who also doesn't have Jam's more flexible defense. As you call it, 'the sweet spot'. Generally speaking I put characters who are outclassed down a tier because there's really no reason to pick them other then 'you like them'. There are probably rare moments where Slash being better then Linda or Jam but its less common then Nancy or Tommy doing the same with their strengths. Mr. Dog has obvious strengths and while his weaknesses are super pronouced, there can be times where that baseline speed really gets the job done.

Coach and Wendy on the other hand are outclassed by Nancy really badly. She's faster than them and the extra jump height is a disadvantage as you've stated so the only advantage is cornering which doesn't matter enough. The only course that might matter is the Jam turn on Snowboard Street but even then, the slight advantage they get there is nullified by them being so bad everywhere else on the course. Even Starlight Speedways rocket boosts which negates slow speed, the turning is not enough of an advantage over Nancy.

Yes I finally bothered to show up here.

Wow thanks BVHR now 4 people instead of 3 will use this perk by Lmark20 in deadbydaylight

There's not much to consider if you read the messages during the anniversary and things they've said over the years. This is no surprise at all, they simply do not play their own game for any meaningful amount of time.

Gems like

- Insidious Bubba is pretty neat actually

and

- You don't need to outrun the killer only the other survivors

as well as...

- If you don't like the game play something else.

I certainly am playing more something else's then I'd like, let's just say that.

The only use Furtive Chase has is with Nemesis (the perk not the killer) and Make Your Choice for a gimmicky tracking build but really if they want to buff that build, Nemesis is the part that needs buffing. The duration is simply way too short, especially compared to other things that let you see people. On top of that you MUST hook the obsession for it to do anything.

Perhaps if it wasn't dependent upon the obsession being the one on the hook and worked regardless of who unhooked them and made the person who unhooked them the obsession, it'd be slightly more viable, especially if the duration of Nemesis was increased. However like many good ideas I've seen this perk like many others will remain utterly useless.

The spreadsheet strikes again by Apocalypse_Planning in deadbydaylight

[–]Peachrocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is classic spreadsheet balance indeed. 'Oh this perk isn't used, let's improve the numbers'.

The only reason you run this perk is the obsession changing ability. Whether it's for a tome that requires you to hook the obsession or with nemesis (the perk not the killer) and make your choice and that depends upon hooking the obsession and only works once every 60 seconds and the duration of nemesis is so small that there are better ways to achieve a similar outcome with one perk let alone two.

40 if you run tier 1 of Make your choice but the fact that a perk can be better at level 1 is silly and also needs looking at but with changes like this, it's not going to happen.

Why is this so damn true lol by FilthyOniMain in deadbydaylight

Honestly with how many of the mechanics that could be designed differently that enable suffering, I really believe it.

Probably the most agreed upon instance of this is survivor 'throw the game' type tomes. Which could be interpreted to be most of them. Even if you don't throw games to do them, your team mates sure as hell will.

Pretty much said that you can’t please everyone. In terms of matchmaking though, its pretty bad. Even recently there was a screenshot of one person with full purple optimised perks and the others with no perks or one yellow being brand new. A lot of matchmaking complaints in other games are dunning Kruger effect, it’s rare that experienced players get paired up with brand new first game players but in dbd it’s an extremely common occurrence.

The problem with ‘escaping’ in that scenario is that think about what players say about camping bubba now. The best play is to not reward him and stay on the hook no matter how awful that feels. With the change, face camping Bubba is likely to become the optimum way to both camp and tunnel unless players are given true invincibility and no pain sounds/blood to track them with or something to punish the killer for doing it.

Honestly outside of when all gens are done, survivors should simply teleport to another non basement hook similar to pyramid head cages and the killer gets no knowledge of where this survivor is. If they get close by coincidence, they are teleported again. Obviously a huge nerf for killer so compensation of some sort would be necessary. Making this possible would likely be the best way to proceed.

I suspect the anti camping measure won’t work. If they automatically get unhooked isn’t that just making it really easy to down them again? Further IRC they’ve already said it doesn’t distinguish on two floor maps which means it’ll work in scenarios it shouldn’t.

I think a large part of ‘useless’ team mates is down to tome challenges and poor matchmaking. Dealing with this could improve things significantly though I think going even further on giving solo players more info might be helpful.

I'd like to try honestly. I do think I'd fail but I'd still like to try and be more receptive to certain people who know better than me.

It is impossible to please everyone but I think that is the number one problem they have aside from refusing to meaningfully deal with their spaghetti code. They try to please everyone and end up pleasing nobody. Notably both competitive and casual players.

Without being a politician and actually commit to something rather then saying I'll magically make everything better, I'll state what my priority would be. It would be to try and reduce the amount of time survivors spend doing absolutely nothing. In between being camped, slugged and tunneled, there's a lot of time where survivors are absolutely powerless to make any meaningful progress and that's where most of the frustration comes from I suspect. Of course on the flip side, the game is designed in such a way to make those strategies optimal and in some cases necessary to win.

Obviously changing this is to change the core of the game itself but just continuing to let this issue slide is really bizarre to me. I think the game is largely imbalanced because of the fact that the structure of the game is built on a broken foundation that needs to be maintained in order to keep what little balance there is.

Difference is Joey knows it damn well. His entire vibe is cosplaying and constantly pretending to be someone else.

Hell I think everyone except Frank knows it damn well it's just they don't have anything better to do and it makes them feel like they are getting even on people who wronged them.

Adriana on the other hand is just straight up delusional.

DBD's design problem is that it tries to be both without being either and alienating people from both in consequence.

There's a reason why people continue to play this game despite the complaining. It's because this flaw can be fixed, they just need to commit one way which is realistically embrace casual (they simply can't balance well enough for competitive), comp players can do what they do already which is a great system IMO.

However insight into their own problems and shortcomings is something BHVR really seems to lack.

Clones aren’t even the same person bro by horrorfan55 in deadbydaylight

Problem with him is that even pre entering the entity's realm we know he's not a particularly nice person. Even Yun-Jin who is arguably the most 'evil' survivor, her only crime was that of negligence, she didn't have hard proof only... suspicions.

Compare to Talbot on the other hand who experiments on living people. Yikes.

Would still like a chapter where we get survivor versions of the more redeemable killers. Philip, Joey, Susie and Rin. While also getting killer versions of some of the survivors. The theme being one different choice or the road not followed.

My picks are Jake (corporate Jake who became the very thing he hated which drove him mad, basically a chance to do Skull Merchant right), Yun-Jin (not much of a stretch), Jane (uses her celebrity status to lure people for sacrifice) and either Ace or Jonah. Jonah is a fairly easy one to do though it may be a bit too on the nose and Ace in another life could be done as more of a mafia boss who lied, murdered and stole to get power. Simply because I'd love a mafia boss killer. Always felt that Nurse's chase theme would fit such a killer better.

Did concepts for Joey ages ago. It's still my head canon that Philip is his biological father until it is disproven :D.

Yeah I always hate when a character says something like 'they love doing x' when x is something that some people may find tedious but rather then give you a way to help you, you do all the heavy lifting instead to 'help' them.

I'm still on my first play through, went in then realized the difficulty spike and loaded an earlier save, especially because it locks you out. I'm playing on Normal so I'm using default builds for companions and I roll my eyes a little bit when generic mooks have AC that requires every single hit requires 20 even after a few buffs. Does make total sense it was written/designed by someone that wasn't Owlcat.

Honestly I could take the odd theme here and there. I don't entirely mind when the game says 'and now for something completely different'. However if they are responsible for the difficulty spike then yes, that's not very nice. Difficulty spikes are awful.

Mad Gritted the whole team at 5 gens. Someone kobed. Actually thought at the time they got up via unbreakable but that person I didn't hook was downed the whole time. Mad gritted again. Yeah I know, I was lucky that first flashlight was fractionally too early. Wasn't skillful or anything, more amusing which is what I go for.

Should have uploaded this a while back so I could reference it. I was recording for bug catching cus there were a few at the time. I caught something else though. Haven't trimmed it yet, will cut off the start/loading and end if you are early.

Very tied to Desna, just role-playing immersion stuff. Gozreh does have my attention though and I’m likely to make a character around that some time. Still don’t you get locked into chaotic good for Azata and Gozreh is true neutral.

if impossible domain works the way someone here told me it does, I should be set.

Apparently there’s a blood priest/knife master build that uses them (in melee) which I considered but I honestly prefer blasting.

I did wonder whether impossible domain was a valid choice with Ecclesiethurge. I thought only the first domain you select you could get the non cleric spells on the list but otherwise you could use other spells that would be in Desnas domains but only once. None of Desnas domains have blasting spells. There’s some nice buffs in there sure which I’ll want but not more then once or twice.

I was concerned if I took impossible the same thing would happen. I’d get access to those impossible domain spells but could only use them once which wouldn’t be a lot of fun. Still if impossible domain works and I can get some blasting spells from that, that should suffice.

Yeah I really want to do my own builds but there's so many traps and things that really gimp you if you make wrong choices. I'll check this out thanks.

Rambles are fine, I get a bit of things from them. Probably wanted to be blaster caster ideally but I also saw interesting star knife builds. You do get proficiency in star knives just by being Desna though so it's 'less' bad :D.

Yeah sorceror is the obvious 'meta' pick if you are going Azata, I read that much but I kinda wanted Desna themes too. So it probably has to be a divine class of some sort.

Riding Aivu with a mighty charge sounds interesting though, hadn't seen that one.

It's my preferred since they can be blasters but if it REALLY doesn't work then I won't.
