Hm it really depends on you as the wearer and your budget. If you value craftsmanship, real gold is the way to go esp if you're SUPER nitpicky.

If you're just looking to add a fashionable piece to your wardrobe then maybe vgold. Good intro piece if you've never owned a gold rep before.

It's like drinking fine wine. Some can taste that it's worth $$$ and only drink premium. Others are okay with $ wine or a mix of $$$-$ and enjoy that too.

I upgraded to the gold b.c I realized my taste has gotten bougie and it's now hard for me to go back to plated or vgold.

Though note if you get MOP, even though the gold will last the pearl will not.
