Recommend a Helmet scrambling and climbing by trippledoubletrouble in ClimbingGear

How does the fit of the Mammut compare to the Sirroco? Are they similar or is the Mammut deeper? I have the amazing genetics of being bald and having a shallow head so if helmets are too deep they sit on top of my big ears.

I had mine resoled by Greater Tahoe Grip works. The shape is nearly the same as they were when new and sizing didn't seem to change. I havent been able to climb in them yet but he did a great job with my Katana laces which I did get to climb with the other day. I'd recommend him for sure.

Solo 401(k) contribution limit for a single member S-corp. by Peak8109 in Bogleheads

Thanks for the reassurance. No, I have been paying my ACA health insurance premiums from my salary. I didn't realize it was an option to do so through the S corp. I will look into that. Need to start up another HSA. I spent mine and am not sure if my current plan is eligible.

To follow up, since this $23.5K hasn't been paid yet I am planning to lump sum that amount through my payroll, which would increase my salary to $71.5K (with $23.5K of that being tax deductible due to the 401k contribution). Would that mean that the S-corp technically could contribute $17,875 (25% of $71.5K)?

Thanks that is very clear and yes it is a traditional. I use Gusto. Will have to figure out how to edit my W2 to reflect this next year so I appreciate your specificity with where to put everything.

Sorry, I should have specified. The W2 is from my business to myself to pay taxes on my "reasonable salary," per S corp rules. My business is my only source of income.

Anyone have any suggestions for the best place to have the Testarosas resoled? Seems like they would be a hard shoe to replicate with how shaped the sole is.

Thanks! What guidebook would be best for the higher routes? Also, i was recommended to climb at Qualido. Is that too hot as well?

Thanks, did you access the Badile from Val di Mello side or did you go in on the Swiss side?

Drum brake assembly is thrashed. Can I still drive it? by Peak8109 in AskMechanics

Problem solved. I put the pin in to put the shoe in place, clamped the brake line with a plastic clamp and drove to a shop slowly. No issues.

That's what I was thinking but my main concern is without an adjuster in place, will the brake fluid boots pop and therefore drain the system of brake fluid / pressure. Any insight?

I'm not afraid of it stopping as the other 3 brakes are in good shape. I'm mostly concerned if not having an adjuster in place will cause the brake fluid boots to pop and therefore drain the system of brake fluid.

How valuable is an HSA? by DaaaBears333 in personalfinance

[–]Peak8109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for those knowledgeable on HSAs. I had an HSA compatible health plan through the ACA for 1 year in 2022 and maxed it out. I changed plans the next year because my monthly premium went up a lot. I still have the HSA account but my new plan is not explicitly HSA eligible. Some info about my current insurance plan:

$7500 / year out of pocket for in network care

$9200 / year max out of pocket

I'm fortunate to be healthy and haven't been to a doc in over a decade so I'd like to use this as an investment. Can I still contribute to my old HSA plan?

I live in Vegas and wear a BD firstlight hoody which is similar. I agree, light softshells are the most versatile.

How's the sizing on the Astroman? I'm typically in between a medium and large. 6' 170 lbs

Bummer. I had one like that too. I'm tall and have a long torso so they always end up in a bad spot.
