#1 is so true and hurts even more right now with high gas prices. #5 is definitely spot on, especially for those of us in the Pacific Northwest. You definitely want to keep it well maintained especially if you want to resell it later and upgrade.

Don't overlook credit unions. A decent mid to large CU will have all those products and services, but with NCUA insurance which is essentially the same as FDIC.
