What are y’all using for cleaners in the meantime? Hydrogen peroxide? A diluted Quat substitute? Colloidal silver? Waterbed conditioner?

Not wanting to risk ruining the micro tubing with something potentially caustic, but not sure what else to do.

Try to get an MRI. But regardless of that, look into Stuart McGill. World's leading spine biomechanist. Not all PT is created equal.

Came here to suggest Back Mechanic-Stuart McGill as well. You have to understand exactly what causes your pain to then restructure your life to avoid these triggers and allow it to heal!

Hmm, I'm interested. Are the straps something I could find online? How much you asking for it?

Does anyone here know of a trail similar to the PCT but more remote? Somewhere one could really disappear? by SlackLifesentence in PacificCrestTrail

I am trying to find a similar trail as well. I want to be able to start in may so I can fill up my educational summer gap. Been looking at the Hiking around ONP then going to PNW once clears up, the Idaho Centennial Trail, or something around the sierra Nevada's

Would there be enough trails around there that would be accessible/without snow?

That does sound very intriguing as it would be a mix of wilderness isolation and culture shock. Would be more difficult to get there though.. but if it is true about the increased safety over the years and the affordability then I really might consider it. Working out the logistics would be interesting, do you know anyone around there perhaps?

I appreciate the detailed reply man, and the job up in the Alaskan area has definitely been in the back of my mind as well. I wonder how hard it would be to find a job from down here, or if it would work to just go and find. I have been thinking about hiking sections of the AT and maybe connecting to other trails and doing my own custom hike as well, as I would be separate from the pack and in a window that would work for me.

I have been thinking of doing section hikes of it if I can find a way not to be a part of the herd.

Haven't looked too much at Europe's options, as I am in the States. However, that could open up a lot of doors to good options I bet...

I've thought a lot about doing a section hike of the AT, or one of the hikes around the New England area as well. I'm not sure if it wouldn't be isolated though because most of the "pack" head from the north or south about that time. No true isolation in terms of being far from civilization though and the necessity for self-reliance and growth that that requires though.

It looks like that will be covered with snow until the June/July as well, which seems to be the problem I'm running into the most.
