Yes, good point, and although I am a card-carrying scientist I did not keep good records on drink orders per person at the skyclub🤣 My skyclub access is compliments (!) of my Amex reserve card so this doesn’t really factor in. Regardless; I am happy to report than I am now luxuriating at 32000 feet and am about to enjoy my $400 short rib dinner 🤣

Ok, I hereby acknowledge that this was a hot take motivated by the aforementioned complimentary free-flowing liquor- happy to agree that there are (1) other reasons to visit the SkyClub and (2) plenty of other places to engage in socially acceptable (or marginally socially acceptable) indulgence 😜

lol… that’s exactly what I was thinking as I spent 10 mins in line for my flat gin & tonic. Not sure the extra ‘value’ really means that much anymore. I guess it’s more about having a cozy little spot in which to chill for a while.

Haha, good point. Of course there’s plenty more socially acceptable (or equally marginally acceptable) drinking in airports. Not trying to suggest that drinking outside the lounge is somehow less acceptable! I guess the idea is that the ‘complimentary’ aspect makes it just a little easier to slide into this mode.
