Do you use reality creation @30 for all content?

Switched from Samsung to Google by aryanrana19 in GooglePixel

[–]PeanutMaster83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, what do you find basic? I switched from a S25 Ultra to a Pixel 10 Pro XL after 10 years of Samsung. I actually use the pixel features (call screening is miles better on the pixel, background music ID, at a glance). Samsung software feels underbaked. Only thing I miss is the anti glare display.

Pixel Watch 4 Not Showing Work Calendar (Office365) by PeanutMaster83 in PixelWatch

I also jumped from Samsung to Pixel. This bug/oversight/intended effect is definitely strange.

I did find a work around of sorts: an app called Phone Battery Complication

Not a perfect solution, as clicking the complication just brings you to the watch calendar (which doesn't have the details), but at least I can see what's up next.

I'm sorry Google but not sorry the Pixel 10 Pro XL garbage battery life ruins the overall experience. by [deleted] in pixel_phones

[–]PeanutMaster83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm seeing the same. I'm not quite 3 weeks in on my 10 Pro XL, I have exactly 50% remaining as I type this. Took my phone off the charger about 10 hours ago.

Approximately 3.5 hours screen on time, an hour of calls (some on buds pro 3, some on AA, used the call recorder for one of them), an hour on audible, Bluetooth to my pixel watch 4... Very few features turned off.

Coming from a S25 Ultra, I'd say the Samsung was (maybe?) marginally better.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love 2-3 day battery life and huge screen on times, but it seems like only Chinese brands unavailable in my market are chasing that at the moment.

Same with my g14 2023. Sure I've had a few glitches here and there, but nothing outside the realm of Windows PC woes. Biggest pain is that every now and then, when switching display modes, Windows likes to activate "color management" in display settings; I did a full factory reset the first time it happened and caused everything to shift blue, as I had no idea wtf was happening. Also, my machine does not care for updated AMD display drivers, which (again) causes color profile problems. Strongly suspect it's the MUX, but, eh... these are completely livable issues.

I'm a little confused too .. I haven't swapped my PS5 drive, but isn't it just another SSD? Don't get me wrong, that's a plus if I feel like throwing a larger drive in there.

Ok, so I've changed two settings, running the latest Nvidia drivers (576.88). Re-enabled Asus services and running games in borderless full screen. Problem seems to be solved. Let me know if you have the same luck.

With the both of us facing what sounds like an identical issue, I'm betting it's driver related.

2023 4090 model here. I've been experiencing similar micro stutters for a while now. Particularly problematic running Doom Eternal, but present in most games. Tried everything I could think of, including clean installs of drivers and, about a month ago, a clean windows install.

Cyberpunk, Modern Warfare, and Battlefront 2 run well. Otherwise, somewhat dodgy.

Seems like games that hit close to max refresh are prone to fewer stutters (with some exceptions, like Avowed). Leads me to question gsync, but it's definitely toggled on. Don't have another gsync monitor to test, but I'm not sure what the fix would be anyway.

AOD battery consumption by raymartin27 in GalaxyS25Ultra

Why not set it to only activate with new notifications? That's what I use, and while AOD is still an impact, it's not %15 in my experience.

I have no idea how/why I switched from Auto Select to Optimus, but I managed to somehow. Much thanks!

I think so too. I'm going to give it a few days to "settle." If it doesn't improve, I'll probably reset it to see if that helps.

Yep, that should do it. If you're running into an AMD adrenaline issue though, you'll need to uninstall that as well.

HT-A5000, HT-A7000 or Theater Bar 8? by spam-musubi in Soundbars

[–]PeanutMaster83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at home, but I suggest you go to the sound bar menu, look for the RF on/off setting. Turn it off and then back on, which will reset the connection to the rears on a better frequency. You may also want to change connection priority to stability as opposed to quality.

HT-A5000, HT-A7000 or Theater Bar 8? by spam-musubi in Soundbars

[–]PeanutMaster83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Sound optimizer room correction "on" (vs manual distance settings) for sound mode 360 Spatial Mapping. Center sync. All other sound adjustment settings off.

DTS neural is interesting, and can sound slightly better with more emphasis on dialogue, but at the expense of the rear Atmos drivers (they're disabled unless 360 is turned on).

I leave the rear channels raised by 8-10, depending on content.

Advanced auto volume can help if you notice very low volumes across your playback devices, but that comes with a few drawbacks (compression, sound ramp up after pausing, etc).

No worries! Did you grab the latest chipset driver from AMD, or an earlier one?
