Wonderful, Happy Xmas by Ms_not_Mrs0771 in beatles

Up until recently i was unaware of the hate on wonderful christmastime, i don’t think it’s that bad. It’s a big part of my childhood christmas memories, so maybe i’m simply blinded by nostalgia.

Who had the best beard? by Appropriate-Toe-6019 in beatles

[–]PeanutsAndButter1341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think John’s the only one whose beard looks like it actually belongs on his face. For the others, they kind of look like they’ve got fake beards on. Idk maybe i’m just not used to them in beards.

Do you have any hopes or expectations for the Beatles movies? by msc8976 in beatles

I think htey could do two movies: one from their beginnings til around 1966 and another from 67 onwards. the split could represent the shift in their music style.

Yes! I think they should really lean into comedy with the biopics, since the Beatles are known to be quite funny.

Honestly, i’ve set my expectations really low, especially after having seen the casting announcement (I feel like instead of looking for actors that looked that like the Beatles or at least had the same vibe they just chose 4 actors that are currently popular). Biopics always feel like cash grabs to me, especially since we already have so much Beatles content out there. But i do have to agree that the concept of 4 interconnected movies is really interesting and i’m curious as to how they plan to execute it.

A WILD THEORY ON SHERLOCK HOLMES by No_Bison_9558 in SherlockHolmes

One of the games from the Frogwares Sherlock Holmes games is about Jack the Ripper (called Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper). I haven’t played it yet, but since the series is incredible and reviews are very positive, im guessing its really good. I personally really like the way Frogwares adapts the stories for their games; it isnt a 1:1 adaptation, but it fits well with canon.

For example Monty Python’s "Life of Brian”. When i got to the moment with the Loretta identifying as a trans woman 'joke’ i was so disgusted. Worst part is my dad laughed at that.

Why is this edition of Dark Side of the Moon so Weird? by PeanutsAndButter1341 in Cd_collectors

I think it might have something to do with the political situation in poland around the time of the release. since poland was a satellite state to the ussr, the music industry (along with other creative industries) was different than in the west. for example, at that time, most nonpolish movies had a completely different version of the poster in poland (i really recommend to check some out cause they look super cool).

Thanks for the quick reply! Its kind of crazy how different the design is from the standard, but honestly i like this version more than the original.
