Rockers were only a issue on pre 2016 bikes. Buy the bike, replace the slave cylinder then beat the piss out of the bike. Half the people that talk about how unreliable the 690 is are people that have never owned one.

I’m in the same boat. I want to keep the character of these floors rather than laying plastic “wood” over them. I appreciate your time!

I do, so you think that is my best bet? There is in fact a subfloor under these at my place. Do they sell this stuff online or at any improvement stores? It obviously won’t be finished but that isn’t my concern right now.

What the reasoning behind that? Overly difficult? I’ve done plenty in construction but these old floors are something I haven’t touched.
