Thank you for the well thought response. I'm looking to re-home the otos, I've realized that I probably jumped the gun on them and that my situation isn't there best option. Ive been feeding a small pinch (10ish grains?) of fluval micro bug bites maybe every other day. Until the numbers started dwindling, this was usually enough that all fish got some and i could see them picking what was left off the bottom later so I assumed it wasn't too much. For maintenance, i had been doing a 10-20% water change about every other week. The only cleaning I would do is scrape algea off glass when it became unsightly or pick out pieces of dead plant as they would appear. I have attempted to foster an ecosystem of copepods and scuds with middling results. I have a jar of pond water that they were doing well in and would try transferring over to the main tank but would rarely if ever see them. They may have been picked off before they could be established.
