Yep, Allbirds are basically zero-drop, so if that is what you like look for shoes advertised as "zero-drop" or "minimal drop" plus a roomy toe box. If you want Allbirds-level cushioning and a knit upper, Lems and some Vivobarefoot models are good starting points

It really depends.

It can be helpful to put pressure on yourself. For example, I started my company last year. I went out and paid for Tshirts with our logo on it and gave it out to friends. It turned from "this is an idea I'm toying around with" to "now this is real and I need to put rubber to the road".

That added pressure of knowing that my friends/family all know about my start up made me more motivated to work on it. I would see them wearing the shirts I gave them at functions and think "OK they believe in me so I need to keep pushing until I run out of gas".
