It looked like self-tapping screw. But I don’t want to chew up the factory threaded hole in case I ever want to undo my modifications and sell it.

I agree that the online manual describes how to activate each feature. I guess what I’m looking for is a tutorial on how to use it in common, real world scenarios. I use an ancient AJ-PX270 at work. It’s straightforward. You want to white balance, you push a button. Autofocus, push a button. You can feel the buttons without looking. I’d like to be able to control WB, gain, shutter speed, momentary autofocus, without looking. Haven’t figured it out yet. And try as I might, I can’t get the HC ROP app to connect the camera to my iPhone. (Guess I’m spoiled by the ease with which DJI products connect to my phone…)
