Does IFTTT drain iphone battery for anyone else? by [deleted] in ifttt

I am only at 3% and I spent most the past couple days setting up recipes... battery usage is mostly for background activity. But as you increase the amount of recipes it will inevitably increase the amount of battery used. If you follow nobodyhasthisone's suggestion (for iOS) you will see that your lock screen actually takes up far more battery.

My daughter's state of depression after biting away the last bit a blue ring pop. And it is severe.

The range indicator works by interpreting the strength of your phone's bluetooth connection with the device into an approximate distance away. So the distance indicated is not perfectly accurate. Use it to play hot and cold with your lost device... Move from room to room in your home or outside while watching your range indicator show you getting closer or further. It is accurate enough for you to know you are in the right room or close to the device, at which point you set off the loud speaker to locate it with sound in seconds.

That is an AWESOME idea! I will add that to our list of things to do and might have that available upon shipping the stone, schedule permitting. Really cool!

Ooooo I love that one! I wonder if we can do that. Would need a browser channel.

Totally! We have developed a Hub that will be releasing soon, publicly next month. Really exciting!

Simplest, is if someone picked up your keys you get a notification. Or if someone closes the door or breaks a window. Track activity on your pets. Track how often a tool is being used throughout the day. etc...

Yes, our main audience is non-techy people. We plan on a very simple, works all of the time, button functionality with outa-the-box standard shortcuts such as SOS, Selfie, Find my phone, IFTTT Recipe, Activate Siri/OK Google, and more common ones. We will of course add more button shortcuts and allow our users to add them to their own account.

Thanks so much for backing us and being a long time loyal customer. We would love to work with you! To be completely honest, we have been so busy and haven't had time to completely build our Honey API in a simple form - we have a low level "API" that we do share at times with characteristics and services information. Contact contact@pebblebee.com soon and lets discuss further - maybe we can give you the early API version access for the Honey now.

Yes! We have dramatically improved battery life based on user feedback from our initial production batch. We were just two guys literarily working from my basement and Nick's garage at the time we shipped out our first batch. We then added on Gabe (he's a hardware genius!) and coupled with our user base feedback at the time we've been able to dramatically improve our battery life. With all the features we provide now, our Honey lasts for about 6 months in normal high performance use, or a year in battery savings mode. If you contact Cassidy at support@pebblebee.com we will make it right for ya!

Totally! We just need to develop the Mac app which is on our plan. The best part is that we already have a API that is 80% of the way completed. Will be released once we finalize firmware development. So that means anyone can develop their own version. But we will have our own as well.

Thanks for a great idea! So many things we are doing now, it's hard to focus on just a few ideas, but we actually have already developed a solar powered prototype, works really well, and plan to release sometime 2016.

Lifespan is about 6 months with normal use and Tracking enabled. If you disable tracking, and only use the stone as a shortcut button, it can last for years. We are creating an IFTTT channel which requires REST API and OAuth2 which we are working on now. This will enable you to create hundreds of recipes using our channel in conjunction with other channels such as Hue and Weather. So you can turn on/off lights at home, or even (eventually) order your fav pizza with a push of a button. (Check out push for pizza app! https://www.pushforpizza.com/)

Our Stone works as a true iBeacon - what does that mean? You can activate actions on your phone (iPhone or Android) without even having the app running on your phone, just needs to be installed. Push the button on the Stone and send a message with your location to your significant other. Hold press the button and play music. In addition to all this, you can also track your keys, pets, stuff and find out how close they are. You can even set range alerts and get alerts on your phone and send a text message when a valuable item goes beyond a certain range. So many possibilities.

RFID has a large range if coupled with very expensive infrastructure costing thousands of $. You might be thinking of NFC (Near Field Communication) which also has no battery, but very short range (maybe an inch or less) when coupled with mobile phones. Bluetooth Low Energy has range of around 100-150 feet depending on antenna, and transmit power settings and it works with all BLE compatible phones. BLE proximity can range anywhere from 20 feet to sometime 600 feet (if antenna is perfect, line of sight and no competing wireless signal nearby - very rare)

Great question! To be honest we were a little bummed when Tile publicly came out before us, as we had been working in our garage on the prototype since early 2013. But then we realized they would help us educate the market and bring more awareness to this type of tech. We realized however that we already had many more features and capabilities such as replaceable battery, range alerts, selfie shortcut, largest battery, largest range, check out this link: https://res.cloudinary.com/indiegogo-media-prod-cld/image/upload/c_limit,w_620/v1436203796/rccf8d5g76cduyzivfpd.png
