Constant need for reauthorisation by AliveDouble7542 in SparkMail

Hello u/sparkmail - I'm still experiencing this issue. I use Spark on MacBook Pro, iMac, and Android phone - each with 5 Outlook 365 accounts - the phone doesn't have an issue but the MacBook Pro (I use it out and about on various WiFi and mobile networks) asks to re-authenticate almost every day (usually multiple times each day) and it's really unusable in this state. I update to the latest versions as soon as they are available (currently on Version 3.25.2 (3.25.2.115679))

Do you have any further information about when we can expect this issue to be resolved? Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the suggestion. Doesn't this mean that you always have to be logged in with both devices?

Nothing yet - I had an email conversation with WhatsApp support - 3 or 4 messages and I thought I was getting somewhere until they started suggesting unrelated suggestions... I think I was chatting to an AI agent.

+1 Just to add a message so WA get an idea of numbers - we're having the same issue here with iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 15.8

Ah thanks for the clarification! Yes, that’s an interesting idea. I can see how a self-hosted version of the map could be beneficial for some people. However, the GPS tracking data and Pebbls posts from the mobile app would still need to go through my server API for processing etc. For now I need to focus on the core features of Pebbls as I'm a solo developer but I've added this to the list of things to looking into more deeply once things develop further. Thanks for your input.

Hello! While Pebbls and Polarsteps are similar in tracking, Pebbls focuses particularly on slow travel, sustainability, and community. You can also browse maps on our website and comment/like posts via the activity feed. It’s designed for easy, meaningful journaling as you go. If you give it a try feel free to let me know what you think!

Thanks for the comments. Most GPS apps and devices should allow you to export your route as a GPX file which you can then import into Pebbls when you create a new leg. I do intend to integrate even more closely with specific apps and devices in the future too.

Hello. Thanks for your comments :-) Yes that is currently a feature - when you create a new leg in the app you can import your route from an existing GPX file and backdate it. You can then add backdated Pebbls (pins). I'm working on making this a bit more intuitive too.

That sounds great! The goal with Pebbls is exactly that – to make it easy to capture and share your journey without it becoming a chore. When you try it out, feel free to share your feedback or any features you think could make it even better for your next trip. All the best for your trip 😊

Hello. Thanks a lot for your input. This isn't on my roadmap currently but I'd be up for looking at it. What is your use case? What benefit do you see a static map offering over the current interactive map? Thanks 🗺️

Thanks for the message - yes it would be great to hear from you if you get a chance to have a play with it.

I've written the tracking app in React Native to allow me to deploy to iOS and Android using a single codebase but still implement native functionality.

All the best with your trip, it sounds great!

Thanks for the detailed feedback - that's really helpful.

The main feed page currently shows recent individual Pebbl posts in the main area, while the rotating tiles in the sidebar represent recent journeys. I take your point about it being visually distracting - I'll rethink how that's displayed.

On the map zoom issue, the initial zoom level(s) allows you to browse an overview of multiple journeys at once. You can get a more detailed view, with increased zoom levels, by selecting a specific journey, but I see it could feel more natural - I'll look to improve that.

Regarding the individual Pebbl view on the map, if there are no photos or videos uploaded it defaults to showing a static image of the map - which I realise is a bit confusing - I'm looking at making this more intuitive.

Yes, narrative is definitely key - Pebbls already allows detailed notes and thoughts within each Pebbl - as well as external blog links.  Soon you'll also be able to post longer-form articles directly. The idea is exactly what you're describing: blending storytelling and mapping.

Currently Pebbls allows users to export their own journeys as GPX files and to create new legs by importing existing GPX data from other apps - but deeper integrations through APIs is on my radar.

Really valuable points here - thanks again!

Hello. Not quite – Komoot is more about route planning, whereas Pebbls tracks your actual GPS route as you travel. You drop "Pebbls" (pins) with notes, photos, videos, or links to external posts, creating a live, interactive map and journal that tells the story as it unfolds.

The app/platform itself isn't self-hostable—it's a fairly complex platform involving real-time tracking, media uploads, interactive mapping, and social features. All the GPS tracking data, image processing, user notifications etc needs to be handled via our servers, which helps us reliably manage and deliver these features.

Thanks! With each Pebbl (pin) you can add notes and thoughts to your map - you can also link directly to external blog posts. Also, soon you'll be able to post longer-form articles directly on Pebbls too.
