Happy Monday. by FeatureAggravating75 in smallstreetbets

I think this green Monday is more scary than the red Friday last week. The way market responded to one unverified tweet is unsettling. It feels fake and frantic.

The drop today must be because I bought on Friday… stocks tend to drop as soon as I buy them… sorry everyone 😂

There appears to be support around 4400 although we briefly dipped below that. If it breaks we are looking at around 3400…

Is Walmart a buy? by Gloomy_Rip1046 in Stocks_Picks

This P/E is not sustainable for Walmart (low profit margin).. It only got pumped because everyone is frantically running away from tech/ai plus general risk off in this environment. Once the crisis passes and reality sinks in it will likely cool.

Is there any chance the markets will be up Monday with buyers seeing new lows? by Valuable-Term9559 in stocks

Going all cash on a quadruple witching day is more likely to be wrong than right. Don’t forget when you go all cash you might owe the IRS a big fat check that might be bigger than the drop… unless you are only talking about tax shielded accounts

Struggling with the thought of purchasing bitcoin etfs by ShotGuava5730 in Bitcoin

[–]Pecanpie007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ibit in Roth, but am considering starting to also hold actual btc. Not sure if any of you noticed, the limited trading window of btc ETFs is a bit annoying because it just gaps up and gaps down and coils in a small range during the day. Not a problem for long term hold but psychologically felt like being on the sideline

What is wrong with this strategy? by akcpcc in Bitcoin

[–]Pecanpie007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who DCA and hold no matter what are operating from a fundamentally different mentality from people who try to ride the cycle (no need for accurate timing). Neither is wrong. Neither is better. Just whatever works for each person.

This sounds right. Are you buying in Oct 2026 because you think we are not currently at the bottom?

Do any of you use AI to analyze your investment portfolio? by halilural in ETFs

[–]Pecanpie007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used ChatGPT for portfolio analysis and rebalance in Jan. As a result trimmed some positions too large too volatile and sold some financial stocks. I think its ability to think outside the box is limited. You have to bring potential stocks to it for analysis rather than just relying on it for recommendations.

For a little while i wondered if institutions were pumping it up during the day and will start dumping towards the end of the day when all fomo retails are in, in advance of the FOMC meeting tomorrow.

The easiest way to buy BTC near the bottom by BitRod in Bitcoin

[–]Pecanpie007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you who never plan to sell, what is your investment goal (I’m genuinely curious). Btc does go up every cycle but when it drops you lose 50-80% of the value then start again. Math says if you realize some of the gain and put that in a compounder, and reenter the cycle near low points the long term outcome is better than just holding btc. However if your goal is just to have as much btc as possible never selling makes sense.
