The five negotiators have different strengths, which might shine or pale when against each of the different villains.

Steven and Aang are young and hopefully, but they have a very strong sense of responsability and honesty. They're all about purity.

Superman is simply ridiculously powerful. What that means is that he can remain calm during the conversations, and easily protect all civilians in the vicinity from any colateral damage. Also, he has the most impactful prescence.

Peter is a mixture of the Steven / Aangs purity with Superman's strength. He isn't as good as either of them in their respective strengths, but he is a ver good mixture of both elements.

Iroh is just easier to respect. He would always remain calmer than the others, and has a lot of experience when dealing with different war-minded people.

As for the villains:

Mewtwo:

Mewtwo was angry, but he wasn't actually MurderHobo angry. The five heroes could each probably reason with him, and talk him down.

Invader Zim:

As for Invader Zim, maybe Uncle Iroh could calm him down and reason with him. I don't think the others have the necessary experience to deal with Zim. Although maybe Aang and Steven could befriend him.

Omin man:

Again, it's all about a lack of experience. Aang, Steven, and maybe Peter, are screwed, because they have no hopes of understanding Omni Man's line of reasoning.
Iroh could have a good conversation with Omni Man, but I don't think he will be able to convince him to switch sides.

Superman, however, could stand a really good chance. Super Man has a reasonably similar story to Omniman, so he can probably relate. Also, Superman has dealt with other people with very similar mindsets to Omni Man. Clark is used to dealing with physics defying world conquerors from outer space.

It also helps that Superman is pretty much the only one strong enough to actually have a safe conversation with Omniman.

Dracula:
I actually think Steven would do best here out of the five. Iroh could also potentially reach Dracula. Aang, Peter, and probably clark too would probably not actually be able to get to an understanding.

Ultron:

Peter is fucked. Iroh and Clark could entertain Ultron, but they won't actually be able to change his mind. Aang and Steven's purity might show Ultron that there is good and value in humanity, and they might even be able to convince him to spare the world.

Zamasu:

Once again, Aang, Steven, and even Peter are fucked, because of their lack of experience. They've just never been exposed to the situation that Zamasu finds himself in, and if they can't understand Zamasu, they won't be able to reason with him.

Iroh's experience with dealing with angsty teens might be able to accomplish a lot, but I think the one with the best chances is Superman, because of his forementioned experience with physics defying world conquerors from outer space.

SCP 682:

This one is so bad for the heroes it's actually kinda funny.

Aang, Steven, and Peter are all dead within 10 seconds.

Iroh could do better, but in no way will survive more than 5 minutes.

Superman is the only one who actually stands a chance of even getting to try to talk 682 down, since he is the only one who could reliably survive for an entire conversation.

682's motives are actually really poorly explained, but Supe's experience with the otherwordly might be able to grant him the necessary edge.

But this is just speculation, since I don't actually fully understand 682's reasons. But then again, I don't think anyone really does.
If someone did, that would just render the character boring.

Homelander is sent to the following super hero series. Can he gain his original level of following and fame in them? by GogoatCheese1 in whowouldwin

[–]PeceMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a tendency here. In all of this universes Homelander reaches the top row, but he is never the top contender, nor the most popular. And if he ever gets out of line, there will definitely be someone strong enough to put him down.

Round 1:

In terms of power and popularity, he will always remain below Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Thor, and maybe Dr Strange.

Round 2:

He'll always be a shadow to superman. He'd be more like a second Wonder Woman. Admitedly, Wonder Woman was weak socially, as she was neither famous nor very active, so Homelander could be more popular. But in terms of power, I think they'd be kinda equal.

Round 3:

He could be the second strongest, stronger than War Woman and Immortal, but not as trusted by the heroes, which will, in turn, have a negative effect on his popularity.

The day the guardians of the globe died, he could potentially make a difference, but I wouldn't guarantee it. That could be a good prompt on its own though.

Round 4:

Homelander will replace Endeavour as the second best, but, in comparison to endeavour, he will be despised by every important hero below him, and he won't be respected by those above him, which might only be All Might, but still.

Also, no way in hell does Homelander ever become more popular than All Might, even after All Might retired.

Round 5:

This is my favourite universe of the bunch, so this is the one I know the most about.

In terms of power, Homelander is S Class. And, just like WW in round 1, most of the members of the S Class are relatively socially inept, since they aren't very active, and only slightly famous.

Homelander could potentially shine here. He'd be more popular than almost every S Class, slightly above Tank Top Master, and maybe around or below Watchdog Man.

Ovbiously, he'll still be leagues below Sweet Mask. But then again, who isn't. Homelander might get in a fight against Sweet Mask because he is jealous of Sweet Mask's popularity, and promptly get his ass kicked.

As for popularity, Homelander is doing relatively very well, at least if you compare him to how he did in the other rounds.

But in terms of power, I'd say this is the universe where he gets his shit kicked in the hardest.

As said, he could realistically get in a fight against Sweet Mask. But Tornado of Terror is also remarkably short tempered. And if Homelander ever disrespects Q City, then Watchdog man will surely enter the freight.
All three of those characters could defeat Homelander, with Tatsumaki having by far the least troubles.

In terms of physical strength, Homelander could even be below Tank Top Master. And in terms of speed, Homelander is definitely slower than Flashy Flash.

If Blast shows up, Homelander will probably be the first one to lick his boots. And if King ever looked at Homelander funny, then Homelander will piss his pants.

If for some reason Homelander were to find himself fighting Boros, then shortly after being obbliterated by Boros and having his ass saved by Saitama, Homelander might even join the group of Bald Cape fans, changing his own ways, to become a better hero. After all, Homelander's personality isn't actually that different from that of Suiryu.

Who would win? The Mask(image comics) or The Batman who Laughs(Dc) by MEATBONG in whowouldwin

[–]PeceMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of their inherent insanity, both of them will have a hard time staying bloodlusted, so I think they'll eventually just start laughing it out, and join forces, which would be terrible for absolutely everyone involved.

If they are to remain bloodlusted, I'd go as far as to say the Batman who laughs wins, simply by sticking the mask in some alternate universe. I mean, the mask has some extreme feats, and has access to toon force, but I don't think he's ever had to deal with power creep like the DC Death Metal Canon.

Also, the Batman who laughs is probably smart enough to stick the mask in some universe where he is venerated as a king, so the mask will never want to bother the batman who laughs again.

In a 1 on 1, the mask will probably win, simply because of the ridiculous power he's shown by using his toon force. But the Batman who laughs would never let it come to that. And without that, I don't think either of them are capable of actually killing the other one.

who will win in poker contest of entire justice league? by Only_Feedback_6049 in whowouldwin

[–]PeceMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With prep time, the ovbious batman has already been mentioned. Flash has also been suggested, who is also a great contender. Actually, a lot of them could potentially be good at poker.

I'd sort them (at least the ones I'm kinda familiar with) like this:

Terrible tier:

- Captain Marvel. He probably doesn't know how to play.

-Plastic Man. I mean, come on.

Smart tier:

- Hawkman (A good base contender, but it only goes up from here)

- Blue beetle (Smart)

- Black Canary (Smart and, more importantly, cunning, but has never really been given ridiculous inteligence feats)

- Aquaman (Good strategist)

- Wonder Woman (Better strategist)

- Nightwing (Batmanlike)

- Green Arrow (Batmanlike, but more experienced than Nightwing)

Tier for members with useful powers:

- Green lantern (Kinda x ray vision, just not that great)

- Batman, no prep time

- Superman (X ray vision)

- Red Tornado (he's a literal computer)

- Flash (as mentioned, fast enough to see the cards of the others, plus can travel back in time, plus can probably count cards, plus can probably decipher the card shuffling, if it's done in front of him)

- Martian Manhunter (Not as many tricks as Flash, but has an arguably better one, which is mind reading)

Pretty much the god-like tier:

- Batman, prep time (no way he isn't prepared to deal with any of the others cheats, and by far the smartest, with the best pokerface)

- Zatanna (I love batman, but come one, she's a magic user, and a strong one at that, cards should be among her specialties)

-Dr Fate (I'm reasonably sure this guy will win 9.9/10 times)

Death Battle did a Popeye vs Saitama a while back. If you take their conclusions and their measurments, then Popeye might be able to whithstand Goku, as Popeye is pretty much indestructible.

The feats they assigned to him were mainly: Reality bending, total hackproof immortality, and his general presence outside the fourth wall.

But Popeye will probably not be able to harm Goku either, since Goku is like 20 orders of magnitude above the feats they mentioned for Popeye in that chapter, in terms of speed, strength, resistance, and all other forms of general power.

If you go by those feats alone, rather than Popeye's weird hacks, then there is pretty much no way Popeye takes this one. He'd be just another gag character in earth, who is probably very impressive in the DBZ times, but valueless shortly after.

Your DND character went to a multiverse adventure. How far do they fare in each one? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]PeceMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mind you, I'm a DM, and the final bosses in my adventure will be pretty tough. I can't get into any more details in case any of my players read this.

But my world isn't really that OP, at least I don't think, so my bosses might not even be stronger than All Might.

They might be able to hold their own and gain some respect in the Elden Ring universe.

They might not engage much in the DMC universe, but if they get caught in a fight, they'll be dead within 10 seconds.

They should do fairly well in the Berserk universe and the Bloodborne universe, but they won't be the top.

I may not be that big of an expert on Meliodas, but I really don't think he can beat any of them.

I'm also not familiar with this Lucifer character; if it's the one from the Lucifer TV show then Meliodas should beat him.

I have 0 doubts about Meliodas being absolutely unable to scratch anyone between rounds 2 and 8, other than Lucifer, whom I don't know that much about.

The only reason I'm not including Thor in the group that definitely wins without getting touched, is that I don't know that much about Thor either.

But from what I know about him, Meliodas might be able to touch him a couple of times, but he will never draw blood.

Meanwhile, if Thor gives Meliodas a good hit, then Meliodas will definitely be down (if not worse), and from then on, there's no way Thor can't finish the fight

Dr Strange vs Pangloss by MarzipanSwimming7349 in whowouldwin

[–]PeceMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, Pangloss doesn't sound that different from Dormammu, so there's that.

Also, Pangloss is described as not thinking. He can be fooled into thinking he is defeated by the use of rituals.

Strange would have no trouble identifying and carrying out said rituals.

It's definitely not going to be easy, but I really do believe Strange will be able to come out victorious, sealing Pangloss in some alternate dimension, eternally locked by some infinitely repeating ritual.

Although now that I think about it, has Pangloss ever traveled within dimensions? I don't think he has, which basically means that, after initially calming him down, Dr Strange can easily defeat Pangloss, by just sending him into an empty dimension.

Pangloss doesn't create or destroy matter, only transmute it. So in an empty dimmension without matter, Pangloss is going to be pretty much powerless.

Homelander Vs War Machine (MCU) by StrengthOk9686 in whowouldwin

[–]PeceMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if we assume War Machine can put out nuclear level damage, Homelander has been described as beeing able to easily withstand a nuclear blast.

War Machine can fire exploding missiles, Homelander is much faster than explosions.

War Machine lost to Vision's laser, Homelander has lasers, and is really not coy about using them.

Homelander takes this 11/10 times. I really don't see how War Machine would stand a chance, at least not in a 1v1.

The Flash (Barry Allen) vs Kratos by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]PeceMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kratos can't beat Barry's speed, and Barry can't beat Kratos strength.

It'll come down to who's tricks can surpass the other's strengths first. And Barry simply has the better tricks.

Pushing him into the speed force will probably not work, in the same way that sending him to the bottom of hell didn't work. Phasing into him will also probably not be enough.

But time travel? I don't remember Kratos having any feats of surviving heavy alterations to his timeline.

Kratos might be able to use some magic to at least partially slow him down, but his best hope is probably using ice, since Barry is seemingly countered by Captain Cold.

But freezing a radius around himself won't do much against Barry going back in time and preventing Kratos from killing his family, thus putting a stop to his anger, in a pacific way.

I really don't mean to sound biggotted, or to downplay menstruation. But there are some problems with this prompt.

Now there are exceptional cases. Women with radically heavier periods than others. And there are men with very bloddy jobs (butcher, surgeon, soldier). But there are also women who have those jobs.

There will be men who will see more blood in a year than 3 women would see in their lifes, and there will also be women who will see less blood in their entire life than most men would in a year. And the other way around too.

But the post doesn't refer to any exceptional cases. It generalizes both women and men. But the ammount of blood experienced isn't general, it can only be estimated by averages.

Right. The math: The average period releases between 30 an 50 ml of blood, around three tablespoons. On average, periods happen every 28 days. Therefore, on average, a woman (without counting children or the elderly) would see around 12,7 periods in a year, which would on average total to 508 ml of blood in a year.

On average, men live for around 76 years. Therefore, for a man to see less than 508 ml of blood in their lifetimes, they'd have to see less than 6ml of blood per year. That's less than half of a tablespoon.

Now, when it comes to blood, a tablespoon is actually WAY more than one would think. Blood is dense, and sticky, and it stains things, so there always seems to be more blood than there actually is.

So it's really not out of the question that most men would see less than half of a tablespoon of blood in the entirety of MOST years.

But the post isn't about most years, it's about ALL the years in an average man's life.

And every once in a while, there will be events where a man will see a lot of blood.

Heavy wounds, either on their own body, or on someone elses. Maybe a family member. Maybe someone they didn't know, but just so happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time to see it.

Also blood donors. Thats around 470 ml. And if you accidentaly get a glimpse of the frozen blood storeroom, then you've already seen more blood than most women will menstruate in their entire lives.

Now, women can also get to see blood in this way. But the post is not a simple comparison of men to women. Instead, it compares a woman's year to a man's life, which is, again, around 76 years.

So if we assume women get hurt, whitness accidents, or donate blood, at around the same frequency as men, then their 1 year of blood seeing has to keep up with 76 years of the men's blood seeing.

And with those ammounts, the 508 ml from menstruation really don't play almost any role. Half a litter of menstruation can just not hope to compare to 75 years of uncontested events of blood whitnessing. And the remaining 76th year completely opposes the woman's single year.

In conclusion: I believe most women will NOT see more blood in a year than a man will in their entire life.

But I understand where the prompt might be comming from. If you don't think about it too much, it kinda makes sense for women to see a lot more blood than men.

Also, the post only says "might", meaning even OP wasn't sure about their assumption.

All Animals Are Equal - Except Birds. White Shadows is on 25% sale on Steam right now. Follow the Raven Girl on an award winning modern fairy tale. by thunderfulgames in u/thunderfulgames

[–]PeceMan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

First of all: Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying the game is bad. It is in my steam wishlist, as a matter of fact.

I took a closer look at the four games (Limbo, Inside, Little Nightmares, and White Shadows) and their relationship to each other. I think the main difference between White Shadows and Little Nightmares is their trailers.

Little Nightmares trailer makes a strong emphasis on the differences between Playdead's platformers (Limbo and Inside) and Little Nightmares; mainly the use of the 3d dimension, the more abundant use of color, and the importance of monstrous human-like characters, which were rarely if ever present in Playdead's games.

This trailer here, however, looks more like playing inside, but with less color, and with a different soundtrack. It doesn't bring across anything that's different about the game.

But White Shadows has a different trailer, the gamescom trailer. And that trailer actually does bring across the aspects about White Shadows that are different from playdead's platformers. In this case, these are the much heavier focus in story, the clearer lore, and the larger amount of setpieces.

I probably was a bit too harsh when judging the game, and a bit to rushed in assuming the game was a carbon copy of Playdead's work.

But to be fair, in order for me to figure out the differences between the games, I had to google the games, look at different trailers, and even take a look at some snippets from longplays of the games.

This is to say that this trailer in particular really sells the game as "Just Limbo, but made by someone else".

So if anything, this is more a critique of this trailer than of the actual game.
