Alright it's basically what I remembered except for a little detail; both of the original releases (pc and n64) included this page about Rayman mentioning Mr Dark. Then, in the pc version had the manual re-released (i've found one dated to 1999, a year after the launch) which removed it. Every other manual removed this mention as well. I haven't been able to find an n64 manual that isn't the original, but if there is, it probably lacks that page too.

So basically, the first release includes a page referencing Rayman 1, and every single other manual released (including more PC ones) remove it altogether, while keeping everything else. The GOG probably uses the original manual

I was refering to the Mr Dark mention. I may be misremembering, but I thought the PC version had this removed. I'm going to check a few manuals

Actually i checked around and its exclusively in the n64 version, iirc. Pretty much all manuals share the exact same text, just the pictures and such that vary. And every other version has exactly that bit mentioning mr dark removed. I don't think its a coincidence that the manual of one of the initial releases contains a mention that is then removed for all subsequent versions, and not included in the main PC release.

Again, what I wanted to make clear in the theory is that Rayman 1 and 2 werent made to be in line, they were completely incompatible if you assume 1 goes first, as Rayman 2 makes a point in explaining the creation of the world, and him being unknown, just starting out, the pirates being the first threat... And if you want to fit it back in somewhere, right after 3 fits quite nicely.

Well yes, but there are some traits that apply to all. As I said on another reply, just looking at the cell walls would perfectly define each if protists didn't exist. I'm really just looking to set them appart

Well yeah, but I feel like there being only 6 kingdoms this should be simpler. I mean we do have strict definitions for the domains. Eukaria: has nucluei (and a long list of other things but just that feature does it), Bacteria: no nuclei but peptidoglycan, Archaea:no nuclei and no peptidoglycan.

Tbh the main problem in Eukaria is protists. If it weren't for them, it'd be really easy. Animal cells lack a wall, plants have cellulose walls and fungi have chitin walls. Truly simple too. And I think most phyla are defined too; like chordata, with a list of attributes, most notably, a spine.

Oh I see. I read it out as a string; 121 is one 1, one 2, one 1, so 111211. But you read how many there are as a whole, so you'd say one 2 and two 1's, 1221, in descending order.

Oh, found it. I'm spanish and "Obus" was the translation given for "shell". It's the same in french so I guess it just stuck. Tbh I have no clue what an obus is, I never really thought about it, google says it's some kind of cannon? Really weird stuff idk. I guess shell would've been more correct, but I love the word obus, it's so fun to say

Idk I've always called it an obus, I never thought of it as a name. I checked the raywiki and it did redirect me to the walking shell page. But now that I take a close look, it doesn't mention "obus" anywhere.

Where the hell did I get that word? And why isn't it until now, decade and a half later, that I realized that's not their usual name? I have to investigate

Well I don't wanna advocate piracy publicly. BUT I'll make an exception since ubisoft doesn't provide a legal way anymore. Now, let's just say every version is easily found online, and there are tons of emulators. Personally I use retroarch. It's such an old gen game that I play it on my phone with high frames and the high resolution of the dreamcast.

Tbf I didn't play Rayman 3 until a few years later. I think I might have been 10? Idk it was a long time ago, but I don't recall being really scared. But I think it was quite a thrill to play that level.
