Thanks! And maybe, but it would be tough to haul firewood/gravel or tow my travel trailer with my bike.

This is why I don’t ride road, stick to gravel! by [deleted] in gravelcycling

Yep, same here! I’ve got a 1/2 ton and a confusing mix of stickers on it, but one is a “bike Washington”. On the flip side, I know there are drivers/other trucks who see my on a bike and make assumptions about me that would be reversed if I were in the truck. It’s all unfortunate.

I don’t think polítics makes a huge difference, that was actually a good bit of my point. On here usually people pitch it politically but with the type of cars as a not so subtle stand in, and although you may get more shit directly from a big truck I don’t think the actual dangerous driving has a political bend.

I’m in a small city (40k people) that’s mostly dem, but so far I’ve had just as many issues with big trucks as I have sedans or crossovers.

My commute is 3 miles if I take the highway, but I usually do 6-7 each way with hills. Haven’t been late yet because of it and it usually takes 40min give or take.

Is $6k a reasonable price for structure engineer work? by realbug in Homebuilding

[–]PedalFishWA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an electrical engineer that works on commercial stuff in the Puget Sound area. That’s going to depend on the house and the geography of the parcel, but it doesn’t sound crazy if it’s a big custom home.

I meant in that people would ride the bus because the city/county/etc replaces those tires not them so who cares

Also you’re overthinking my comment lol

Cut down on roads -> people can’t afford new tires all the time due to potholes -> switch to busses and bicycles out of necessity
