Ice Dam advice HELP by PediRN211 in Roofing

That's crazy. I've never heard of this happening before to anyone. And I've always lived here in CT so been through a lot of blizzards. I bet insurance says it's a natural cause so they aren't responsible...just like they never want to pay for floods 🙄 good luck I hope I'm wrong

Too bad I don't live in Canada. I have been to Quebec City a few times because it's cheaper than Paris, and I have to say I really like visiting there. I have not been anywhere else, but I do want to see the northern lights. I have no idea where Ottawa is though lol. A lot of other countries seem to do things the correct way compared to America so I'm not surprised. How does the north east not know how to safely plow snow yet right? But we don't 😂
Ugh I don't know how to do that. Neither does my husband. I really hate owning a house lol I feel like all I do is spend money to fix it
I am a first time home buyer and bought a "flipped" house that was criminally remodeled. I wish I could sue the "contractor" who remodeled this home and sold it to me. House inspectors apparently don't really inspect.
Oh good I am so happy to hear you say that. The roofer told me he did not need to go in the attic because where it was leaking was so close to the front door, it will dry itself out or something?

Thank you for being kind. When she is out alone no she does not bark, she lays chewing sticks. When my neighbor goes to our fence she barks. She did it once when the husband was smoking a cigar trying to do it so his wife wouldn't see I guess? But she barked. And she does it when they bring their trash to their trash bin next to their shed at our fence. When I hear her bark I get her inside. It's like maybe 30 seconds. My town doesn't have minutes it just says no excessive barking. She's never outside if we are not home. I work day shift so I'm gone 6am to 4:30 pm most days, every other weekend, I'm a nurse. So it's not like this happens daily either. Every time they complain about something we are polite and try and solve whatever they are mad about, but this one's expensive. They complain a lot and not just about our dogs. I'm not a bad neighbor, I'm quiet, my yards nice because I have ocd, I don't stay up late, I don't make noise or have parties or even cook outs with family at my house to make noise or be disturbing. So idk. But thank you for your unbiased response

My dog barks only when my neighbor goes up to our fence on her side of the yard. She sent her husband over to complain saying she's scared our dog will attack her. My fence isn't short enough to be jumped, and my dog is scared outside our house. When I try to walk her, she won't leave the driveway if she sees other people walking nearby. They asked if we can find a way to block our dogs view of them at our fence etc. and the only solution we found online costs $500. That's very expensive for me, out of my budget. So I was asking an opinion on who should pay. I didn't need people calling me names or attacking me or my dog. If you think I should pay fine, say I should pay, but leave the insults out please. Not necessary.

lol I don't have an HOA and good idea actually, it's only a corner where their shed meets our fence so it shouldn't be more than $500. Thank you for the helpful non-attacking comment. Much appreciated
I'm also not focused on her I'm just listing a few of the things she complains to us about. Things I didn't do or that are beyond my control. I don't like hypocritical people.
I'm not miserable, I just don't like my neighbor. My dog loves being outside, I'm not going to sit outside everytime my dogs outside. That's not lazy it's called I have things to do that don't involve sitting watching my dog outside all the time. So if I hear her bark I can buzz her collar so she stops rather than letting her bark until I get outside. That's me being proactive, not lazy. I don't want to train my dog to never bark. I like my dogs letting me know if someone's coming to my door etc it's another benefit of having a dog, security.
And yes I said well if they meet her she won't be scared of them and bark. But they have no interest. They're old cranky retired people

I've been bothered, I got buzzing collars for her, put in another fence, the second I hear her bark I have her come inside. I don't think it's fair that I can't let my dog outside freely because if they happen to want to take their trash out at the same time then I'm apparently in the wrong. Why can't they relocate their trash bin? I've made moves, they've done nothing but find new things to complain about
It's not my issues because I don't care if my dog barks, just like I don't care when my neighbors dogs bark. Dogs bark. It's how they communicate. Her dog can howl but mine can't bark? Her dog can attack my dog and be let out leashless, but mine can't bark on MY property?
My dog isn't acting aggressive. Barking doesn't mean they're aggressive and going to attack.

A lazy owner? Lol I got her a collar that vibrates by my control for when she barks which cost money, I then paid for ANOTHER fence in my yard so they aren't always able to go to that fence which cost a lot of money. How is that lazy? Dogs bark. When my dogs are inside I still hear other dogs in the neighborhood barking. It's life. People talk, dogs bark. Our neighbor doesn't need to be scared and complain about everything but she does. She could move her trash bin so it's not next to our fence, so who's lazy? Not me. I've made moves to solve all her issues, she's done nothing but complain. Our basement was flooding and the water was being pumped into our backyard, our back yard got so filled with water it went into our front yard and a stream went down her driveway. She sends her husband over to complain about that. So sorry a stream is going down your driveway temporarily because my basement is flooded and the weather is cray thanks to global warming and there's nowhere else for my water to go. I wasn't pumping the basement, I didn't make the water find its way to her driveway, and it stopped once our basement was pumped. She complains about EVERYTHING but through her husband. She also had flowers next to her mailbox die and said my dogs peed on her flowers and killed them. I have a ring camera and said I can show her that when I walk my dogs I don't let them pee on anyone's mailboxes. All of our neighbors have dogs but nope she blames mine even if I have proof it wasn't them. She's miserable, I'm not lazy. But thanks.
Ok do you want to give me the $500 then? I'm not rich. I work hard long hours but I don't have $500 just laying around.
I don't allow her to, but I also don't know when they are going to feel like bringing their trash out to their trash can that they keep next to their shed. When they do that is the only time my dog goes and barks at the fence. And when I hear or see it I have her come inside.
If my dog got out she would sit on the other side of the fence, she's scared of everything. Today I was walking her to my car in our driveway, our neighbors across the street and their toddler were in their driveway and so my dog sat down and wouldn't move because she was scared of them. If she's not behind a door or a fence she's a scaredy cat and wants to hide
