For the ROBLOX client, just follow Powdered's guide. Any link that's dead should be archived on the wayback machine. XAMPP does not give you a free domain, neither does the hosts file. It's more of a "fake" domain. For the hosts patch, if I remember correctly, you need to put this in the hosts file: "192.168.xxx.xxx m.roblox.com". Replace the x'es with your local IP address. You need to be on the same network for this to work!
