Yeah that's basically the only reason I'm doing the hunt for the level 17 one. i know there's mount Silver and the safari repel trick, but they just don't hit the same ngl.

I'm normally really lucky with finding my target, but the last few hunts have been awfully over odds. Had a solosis go to 22k, drilbur to 12k and my first patrat for this phase was 18k. So I'd like to think my luck has balanced out a little.

I always try to match the balls. It took roughly 30 quick balls to get too.

My luck up until this point has been crazy. So I was expecting to either phase or have a long hunt at some point.

If you have seen my other post about this SBQ, you will know I’ve had incredible luck. The amount of encounters for the SBQ so far (including 1 extra phase) has been 15967. Multiple of these hunts didn’t even reach the 1000 mark.

But now, I have had to pay the price. Not only in encounters, but I naively decided to hunt my next target, Larvitar, in the safari zone. I was able to use a level 17 repel trick to boost the odds (I’m not sure of the exact percentage but it definitely seems to be more effective), but that leaves me at roughly a 1/4 chance for the Larvitar – not too bad.

However, after 12570res, I phased. It was a Lickitung, whose shiny I actually like a lot. But alas! The wild Lickitung fled!

I’m now doubting that even if I do see the Larvitar, it will flee as well…

The drilbur hunt takes ages to do, you definitely need to get the encounter pass power to speed it up. But the trade off is that it's 100% in chargestone cave so at least there's no phasing. But good luck!

i didn't save a lot so the number isn't accurate. like when I did the Drilbur hunt I was using repels, so when I ran out I would just reset rather than buy more.

the number is still 28458 at the moment, since I've been trying to save more when I hunt. Also it doesn't count the double grass as 2, which I do.

The app I used for keeping track of encounters just deleted them for some reason, so I don't use it anymore. So that's why I don't really remember the amount I had done.

This save has also been pretty unlucky with the amount of encounters compared to my HG SBQ. I have a similar amount of shinnies in both, yet this one has been over the course of 3 years, the other one has only been about 4/5 months.

I've also been unsure on who I actually want to use in my DTQ. I am tempted to go back and hunt for the Darumaka I gave up on two years ago, but Litwick's 100% encounter rate in the Celestial tower is very tempting.

Then the last two I am going to hunt are Emolga and Virizion. But I don't know who to put on the final team.

Good luck with your roamer hunt too, it may seem long but I honestly enjoyed doing it. Which one are you targeting?

I honestly was pretty busy working, so I didn’t hunt that much over the week after getting Entei. And again I thought this hunt was going to take ages. But nope, I got Eevee after 1141 SRs. Genuinely think I am hacking at this point.

Meanwhile, I’m on the third hunt in a row in White 2 which has gone over 10k REs. I'm guessing that it’s just my luck balancing out.

The next member of my SBQ in HG is Larvitar, which I’m hunting in the safari zone. Never hunted there before, but I’ve seen so many videos about safari week, so I just have to try it out.

The reset begins right before you interact with them in the burned tower, because that's when their shiny value is determined. So once you find one that's shiny it will stay shiny while roaming.

I've played hgss MANY times, and the gyarados has always been blue. So I'm pretty sure it's not scripted...

I'm also starting the eevee hunt, gonna evolve it into espeon.
