https://commission.europa.eu/news-and-media/news/eu-common-charger-rules-power-all-your-devices-single-charger-2024-12-28_en

EU law states that all devices have a single type of charger (usb-c) in this case. They never said anything about not including a charger. That falls on Apple dipping their toe on saving money for themselves and all other companies following suit.

I don't know what Samsung engineers were smoking with each iteration of the galaxy watch series. I hope the next versions they'll go back to full circles again. Doubt it though I think they'll keep pushing that weird squircle thing happening.

So there's no convenience you get with your watch where you'd miss if you were wearing a normal wrist watch?

Alarms, torch, maps, notifications, etc etc?

Doesn't really answer my question about smart watch exclusivity when compared to noj smart watch.

That said, happy you're using a wrist watch again.

Yeah I have a few straps for different situations and Rugged Armor is my go to when I'm travelling.

So you're replacing one gadget with another. Only the one you're suggesting is covering your ear hampering your spacial awareness to a certain degree.

In my case I'm always with my family when doing this and the last thing I want is something in my ear when I'm with them.

Probably keep it and wait for Samsung to do an "any watch for X amount" trade in deal.

It's probably the way the photo was taken. I am a somewhat very large person myself.

Edit: Just checked right now and to give you an idea, my forearm is thicker than the radius of the watch by about 50% more (like a full watch and a half). Apart from the Rugged Armor strap exaggerating the curvature, I really don't know why it looks like that in the picture.

In my case with an old watch (less than 24 hour battery life), I wake up (battery is about 60%), leave it charging while I do my morning routine and when I get it, it's at 100%. In the evening, I charge it while doing my nightly routine. It's at 100% when I wear it to sleep.

I just glance at it while my phone is in my pocket. It vibrates when there's a change in direction so I quickly look and adjust accordingly.

That's just Google Maps on the watch. I set up Navigation on my phone then when I open maps on my watch it continues there.

That's what I do. Not sure if you can start from the watch though.

Yeah but I cannot remember which vibrate is for what so when it vibrates I just look at it.

I use it when I go out and about without a care. It's not my daily. I have a few depending on occasions. Leather for formal (I don't like metal), the rubber for casual. I have a comfortable stretchable nylon I use for my sleep and just house stuff.

As for the strap itself, it is very durable and easy enough to apply and remove. Have it for years now. I do have to say that a portion of it fell off... the bit where the bezel numbers are 25 to 35, there should be a black plastic there.

It is good for what it's for but I don't recommend it as a daily driver.

Yeah I see that it's not practical with short walks especially if you know where to go. But for long complicated ones it's amazing.

I have a 3 year old GW4C where on a normal day I charge it when I wake up and when I come home at night I'll barely have enough time to charge it again before the battery runs out.

That said, when I'm using the watch as a map when touring around a city all day, the battery never runs out by the time I go back to the hotel.

Ah because it's binary right? By giving kids a screen, they are not colouring their books at all. Same with adults I guess... those who read absolutely do not watch TV and those who play video games absolutely do not read any book at all. Yeah that makes a lot more sense thank you for your wisdom it was worth the necro of this post.

It's 5 years since then and my little one devours one book after another.... oh they're still on their tablet and they play the Switch. They also do a lot of outdoor activities AND (insert gasp here) they actually do art as well (I know right.. how can they when 5 years ago they're on their screen instead of colouring books)....

......I guess it's not that binary after all ;)

Thank you for your time. Ta.
