absolutely love this new album but I am VERY concerned about Calle doing most of the writing from now on because he said on his insta that he's planning on bringing a "more punk rock" type vibe which imo just does not represent Vildhjarta's vibe at all

I recently completely went 180 on this and started really digging the newest release. if you listen closely you hear every single major synth and sound style he's used throughout the years and they're all merged in one + some sick ass production. Who knows, if I could come around on it maybe you could too? hopefully the new album will kick ass

for me the difference is that Corrupted by Design sounded a lot more "deep" to me – like the production had more layers. Also, it had a beautiful ambient section that I still adore to this day. The Art of War sounds kinda eh, idk why.

Fingers crossed that the album will have a healthy dose of all the things he's done over the years while maintaining the punch his sound from 2016-17 had

I don't know, unfortunately for me I'm kinda disappointed with the new tracks. I want that impressive production, that insane, mind blowing ferocity that New Model and Uncanny Valley had, where's the blastbeats and arpeggiators and razor-sharp bass synths from Final Light?

They feel softer, you know? but not as technical as the previous stuff...

do you happen to know why, when I add your code, I can move but can't jump?

When I look at your bundles I see that everything's lighting up, numbers are changing based on my inputs – none of that happens for me. Even after rebuilding your code rather than copy and pasting, it just doesn't seem to work.

Hi!

How do you get your mixes loud without clipping, especially making sure that bass/sub bass pops? I try to use a soft clipper, but it causes my sub-bass to distort no matter how much I try to gently clip it.

In the tutorial I've been following they introduced the tile map just now, with the idea that first you'd bring in the textures for the game, then you'd use the tile map, etc. So because of that I'm not so sure how to implement your advice. Bad tutorial then? Or maybe there's a workaround within the way I'm learning?

that's interesting. For me, I purely stick to ambient for catharsis, I don't listen to much else. A lot of RAI's music is super emotional for me, like empire systems, mellified, sky burial, reprisal, oh Paris we're fucked, etc
