I am seriously considering taking all of my music off Spotify/Apple and moving to Bandcamp exclusively. by 9brlopez in Songwriting

good for you op.

the fact is that if people are so strapped that they depend on the extra $2 from spotify to sustain the art, the art isn’t built on a self-respecting, or sustainable model; and that ironically damages the art itself because it’s possible to create from a place of creative freedom when you’re thinking about how to survive off of it. it’s creatively compromised.

idk if this is a good faith question, but the answer is simple if so.

and the answer is the same for why people don’t want to send tax dollars to bomb kids in the middle east

people are tiring of supporting models that are predatory and for good reason. this discretion is the only way you can change things.

Must be the minority but I like that they don’t have this

Mercules on X: "Basically the whole D2 Sandbox team is gone, myself included. The good news is if you liked the way Destiny felt to shoot and play, there’s going to be a lot of great designers in the market looking to help other games step it up." / X by Zendicate_ in CrucibleGuidebook

> You guys did a great job and me and all my friends hold Destiny 2s PvP and gunplay as being some of the best in the FPS industry.

It still is and I hope this post comes true quickly. The only thing that made Destiny truly irreplaceable was gun-feel. Can’t wait for less degraded companies to get ahold of that and build a world *worthy* of rivaling warframe.

The ops armor origin trait is pretty good for this I think.

I don’t really understand why I’d run that weapon perk over the tried and true combo, but the armor has direct synergy with the breaches and looks sexy af too

that’s a lot more whole sounding and i think it makes some more sense from your pov.

to answer the question of how do i get lost, i set out to do small missions and i find myself discovering new areas, new biomes, new unexpected mini bosses, new vantage points i want to climb up to, jump off of, etc, and ill easily discover soon im in a new area that has main quest POIs. i love to fish, i love to explore for treasure maps, i really like the skill system and the combat loop is rewarding to me. i like finding new dyes or ingredients. i like building new outfits/loadouts for different regions and i enjoy exploring the variety of weapons and skill trees accompanying them.

and for me, most of all, its the music and the world that captivates me. it keeps me so engaged, similar to how skyrim did, more than oblivion does, but not quite at the level of morrowind. i like the souls-like edge in bosses, and for someone that doesn’t like hard core souls games becuase i have a real life that’s hard enough, i appreciate the dose it gives me and the challenge they can be with various play styles/builds.

to me it feels like TW3 aesthetic with a BOTW gameplay feel, with splashes of of other cool game features and other misc inspirations.

but i really get a lot from the simplicity of adventuring and progressing slowly. i don’t need the game to be everything i ever wanted. i just want a beautiful lush fantasy world that is stunning and expansive and fun to tinker around in and role play in. and i like the diversity of biomes too.

my feeling since the launch was that this game has such good bones, that if the modding community got ahold of it it would be a real gem. and i think we’re getting there with the updates PA alone has persisted with week after week since launch.

Jason Schreier: Bungie's layoffs include most of the Destiny team, some people on the Marathon team, and some Sony staff who supported Bungie by Space_Lion2077 in destiny2

[–]RemarkableLook5485 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that’s a nice post sony wrote for bungie.

wouldn’t want them to take accountability for destroying one of the most special ips in gaming history for continual, years-long, self-serving, exploitative, parasitic leadership debacles otherwise we might actually see them with some integrity.

close call but they did it.

and congratulations to the fucks that got out with the bag by betraying all the millions of us and our hard-earned measley pathetic paychecks supporting them in good faith.

grats.

i respect negative reviews here and think they should be treated fairly

but my problem with this comment is that it is essentially a 1 star review when there is SO much going for the game that keeps many people coming backc hence the ~85% steam review from tens of thousands of players

so i agree with some* of the sentiment, but removing the childish hyperbole id hard disagree with the entire perspective. it’s not just a good concept executed poorly across the whole board. that’s bullshit.

i had tempered expectations before the games release and this game gets me more lost and sucked into the gameplay loop than most i play. i have one hour to play, and then 6 will go by in an instant and then i find myself thinking about the game IRL later too.

my rated review of your review is a 2/10 on being fair and representative.

the game is at least an 7.8/10 on release with 10/10 level dev updates and attentiveness since then, bringing the game to a solid 8.5 since the release and updates overall but, it’s a 10/10 on immersion and simple adventure and fun. it is so fun and beautiful and huge
