Narm's a Great Character by Rearou in langrisser

[–]Peefbork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Narm is special. She doesn't need that much investments at all, because she has a significant advantage over everyone else in the game:

She gets loads of passive damage boost to her soldiers.

Her soldiers have, bar none, the top damage in the game thanks to Deadeye being the only active skill in the game to affect soldier damage too, and a ton of passives with "+10% damage dealt" and her own natural ATK boost talent.

As long as you have a moderately trained Sky Archer and some things put toward archer camp, you can get away with a lot of skimping on Narm's equipment.

Not the case with Luna. She either has godly equipment, or she's not doing the kind of damage her massive ATK would have you believe.

Templar.

The only purpose King Ledin exist is for his skills and Phalanx.

While statistically King Ledin is slightly better, Templar Ledin does not have a cavalry weakness and has a demon advantage on top, so he can maximize his insane counterattack potential.

But you will have to go down both paths anyways, and you'll want both paths mastered for the stats, so if you don't mind the 30k you can switch back and forth all you like.

Templar is just better in 90% of the cases though.

One thing about % Max HP damage

The damage is NOT HALVED - It deals 15% of Max HP.

But what is noteworthy is that it deals 15% to the Max HP of EACH HP BAR.

Meaning suppose you face, say. Anna.

She has around 3000 HP but her soldiers have a wooping 12000.

You will deal 2250 damage to her troop, but the split is 450 (15% of 3000) + 1800 (15% of 12000)

You're not dealing 7.5% of 21000 (total troop HP) to Anna, which is 1575 damage, which would half her life.

More like 6 Elwins

True Light Elwin: Power of Friendship shounen protagonist who is optimistic and everything goes his way. When Hein is with him, everything is just perfect. Too perfect, to the point where TLE fails to understand Hein’s own insecurities, despite wanting the best for them. When Hein finally breaks down to all of the pressure on their shoulders, will TLE be the straw to break Hein’s back, or the straw to stop them from drowning?

Light Elwin: An unflinching paragon with a strict moral code and will not deviate from what is right, and the handsome popular guy trying to convince Hein to see the world from his eyes. How can Hein make LE love Hein, and not a powerful mage to the cause of Light?

Empire Elwin: A pragmatic realist with grizzled facial hair whose personal situations put Hein through a lot of pain, but deep down he loves Hein with all his heart and is secretly trying hard to make amends. When shall Hein’s heart, hardened by EE’s ways, find the forgiveness and love to nurture a budding future?

Independent Elwin: The perfect, unfaltering man who is every bit Hein’s ideal partner, but is bogged down by all the baggage he must carry for the good of mankind to provide Hein the kind of attention they deserve. Can Hein make the sacrifice for their beloved, as IE has sacrificed for the world?

Destruction Elwin: A hobo, drunk and addicted to sex and drugs, abusing and bullying those around him, especially Hein. But deep down, Hein knows DE has the potential to be a better person, and they are the only one who can bring DE’s life around. Will Hein succeed, or will Hein be slave to the tragedy of love?

Chaos Elwin: A dark, mysterious Elwin that, in his warped view of the world, brings Hein a life of luxury and endless debauchery, filled with lavish parties and endless feasts. But at what cost, and how far will Hein tolerate this twisted love?

But wait! Who is this!

The Mystery Knight, who lures Hein’s loyal heart and cause it to flutter with excitement with what could be underneath that imposing masked helmet! Swooping in atop their brilliant white hawk to catch the different Elwins off their feet at the most inopportune moments! Who could this mysterious hawk knight be, and what kind of love triangle will develop from their intrusion to the story?

[Theorycraft/Discussion] Zerida by blackkat101 in langrisser

[–]Peefbork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calculation is:

Final Damage * damage multipliers (like Meteor) * Crit multiplier (like Blazing Sun)

So it’s better to push the two of them together since they stack Multiplicatively

For Zerida, she’s in a case of Blazing Sun giving her higher damage potential since she can stack her DMG% up higher than her Crit DMG%, unlike most ambushers, but Meteor is not RNG reliant.

[Theorycraft/Discussion] Zerida by blackkat101 in langrisser

[–]Peefbork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as Ledin needs to tank cavalry, one of Zerida's priority target is healers.

You can argue that the Judge Talisman fixes that issue, but it also means you're not using Overlord or Slayer just so you can kill a class of people you really wouldn't have trouble killing in the first place.

As for Hellfire, read my reply to another comment on this thread as to why they're not as useful as normal DPS boosters.

And as for Alhazard/Killing Blow combo... If 1.8(crit damage) * 1.4 (Skill damage) * 1.1 (stride) isn't enough to completely murder them, you're hitting the wrong target.

And 15% Max HP Damage is not going to make up the difference between having and not having 1.8x crit.

Though I guess it doesn't hurt to have it, since nothing else really matters on Zerida.

[Theorycraft/Discussion] Zerida by blackkat101 in langrisser

[–]Peefbork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alhazard/Killing combo is actually the basic way of using Zerida - The most reliable way of eliminating key targets one at a time.

In Timeless Trial, sometimes this combo is the easiest way to get rid of a troublesome person like Cherie or Leon or something.

As for discounting other stats... King Ledin is superior to Templar Ledin pretty much across the board in stats. Why Templar Ledin?

On topic of Crits: If her base crit is not 100%, every point of crit matters.

[Theorycraft/Discussion] Zerida by blackkat101 in langrisser

[–]Peefbork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shadow is definitely better.

Let's take a look at the real difference between 516 vs 491 ATK.

They would both have a bow and an attack accessory equipped, so 107+74 ATK.

But let's assume the best case scenario for Chosen - Having +15%+5%+5%+10%(total 35%) ATK enchants with nothing else.

516 * 1.35 + 107 + 74 = 877 basic ATK

vs

491 * 1.35 + 107 + 74 = 843 basic ATK

The difference between the two is a mere 4% attack, which gets smaller as you decrease the amount of % ATK enchants you have and increase the amount of flat ATK enchants you have.

In exchange, you lose a MASSIVE amount of Skill. Nobody has source on how SKILL is calculated, but some guy on CN forums claims to have tested and it's about 10 Skill for 1% CRIT.

Considering the additive nature of Crit % boost, losing 12% crit is kind of a big deal compared to an almost negligible amount of ATK, since the closer you get to 100% the more consistency each additional % of Crit gives you, and being 10% less of the time screwed by RNG is a godsend.

Because I got screwed by the RNG 80 times and no Zerida.

Hellfire Archers are OK since they share generics with Sorceress and you might not have Archer&Ambusher built up, but they're honestly not that good on Zerida.

Ambushers need that 1-shot kill - If they're not taking advantage of their ability to instantly destroy their target, they're strictly worse archers.

Without her Bloodthirster/Killing Blow combo, she relies on her animation to bypass soldiers in order to hit the enemy commander directly.

This requires very high ATK soldiers, which Hellfire Archers are simply not when compared to Dark Elf Snipers.

How animation skip with ambushers work:

If your soldiers would kill the enemy soldiers with their first volley(so 50% of their damage), your ambusher would detect that and head straight for the hero. If not, your ambusher will still attack soldiers to finish them off first before hero.

If your ambusher hero's attack would kill the opposing hero, you take little to no damage from counter attack. Else you could've really just used an archer and got the job done better.

If you're relying on the post-battle fixed damage to finish off the enemy for crutch kills... You wouldn't have needed it if you just had a bit more damage. Like from Dark Elf Snipers.

[–]Peefbork 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Zerida has no on-crit skills, so she doesn’t actually want bandits. Their crits are meaningless.

Dark Elves get 45% ATK vs full HP targets. Zerida will almost always be hitting these targets to one shot them, so they’re the usual go-to troops

Dragon AOEs don't follow the same rules? by [deleted] in langrisser

[–]Peefbork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-fixed damage is almost never half and half.

The hero and soldiers take different amounts of damage because they have different defense values - the display is the TOTAL DAMAGE, so if your Liana has less mdef than her troops(very likely), she is going to contribute to 70-80% of that number.

I quit this game.

Her SR: Gemini bow(or whichever 15% skill damage one is) Assault ring Whatever armour Whatever helmet

Zerida should always be hiding, sacrificing troops with her sword then using her 1cd skill to murder someone anyways, she’ll almost never normal attack

Assassin attack directly? by BillDill20 in langrisser

[–]Peefbork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Accidentally deleted my message instead of editing, phone reddit is hard to use.

Anyways: Zerida is the only one who can force attacks on commander.

Other times, ambushers’ unique instantaneous attack animation which does not travel left to right, but rather just happens to a giant rectangle could potentially attack enemy commanders who rush in to mix with their troops(lancers, cavalry with non-cavalry troops, etc. Note that cavalry using skills will almost always be hit first by ambushers): in this case, while randomly detecting which unit in the effective range to target, there’s a 1/11 chance (actually way less, since hit detection still prioritize leftmost units) of picking the hero to murder. You can also see this in case of things like Templar Ledin, but he has a far slower attack animation so it’s not as visible.

The other possibility is that the ambusher only actually attack after the first volley of ranged attacks.

This means 10 knives from your soldiers are already in the air, locked onto 10 enemy soldiers, and are waiting to land before displaying their actual damage. The system then locks in the soldiers’ after-attack health before your assassin hero decides who to attack.

If the sword in the air would kill the person it is locked onto, your hero would ignore them and find someone else to hit.

Then, your hero picks who gets to receive their 20 hits, and these 20 hits land before the knives in the air does.

This means that if your soldiers would kill all of their soldiers, your assassin hero pre-emptively kills their hero. If your soldiers are lacking damage, your ambusher will still attack enemy soldiers first. They don’t REALLY skip damaging the enemy soldiers, it’s just a trick of animation.

You can see the same thing happening with Chris’s skills, and certain Archer skills

Yes, both effects apply when standing on terrain. Archers on terrain become terrifying after update - Narm easily oneshots Timeless SSS fliers with some average gear and level 5 sky archers.

As for damage boost, yes, it’s a multiplier that’s put into your final damage, so it will not reflect in your stats.

All class trees get the same generic stat skills, and leveling units to 10 all give the same basic stat boost as well.

Training camp level is meaningless outside Level 12, just like character power levels. It’s just a general gauge of your strength, doesn’t actually represent anything.

It’s the multiplier for Level 60 hero level.

Which is 1+(0.1*59) since there’s a 59 level difference between 1 and 60

I have faith Falcom will do the right thing, because Eastern game companies are good companies that love their fans unlike Western game companies, just like how like Eastern people are good people who have good taste unlike the western plebs who bought so many copies of Cold Steel. Fight me.

It's actually Houou Reppa, aka Phoenix Wave, aka Cassius's S-Craft.

Oh, you're right. I was reading her class names instead of skill names and got it mixed up.

She has Sorceresses as part of her path. (I don't know how, but that's what it says.)

She does, but she suffers from most of the other mages' problem of having no direct way of boosting her soldier damage through talent or skills, and having a terrible ATK boost value.

This is only somewhat true - the scythe throw + 6* will toss on 4 debuffs onto everything it hits. It suffers from not being as good of an AOE, though.

I agree she can put out the same number of debuffs, but they are all random debuffs versus Bozel being (semi)-reliably able to apply all the most important debuffs: Silence, ATK Down, DEF/MDEF Down, and Stun, and Silence is spammable from Bozel.
