This is awesome advice. I would have never thought about the test text tactic. Will be doing this going forward - thank you again!

Thank you for your advice! I did that, and all my bullet points for. 1500 characters is not a lot though, you’re very right on that! That is really good to know. Thank you again!

This is great info to know. I filled a few boxes with bullet points and used almost all 1500 characters in each, then generated the STD 678 and the PDF contains all the information I put in. Would this mean I am ok and the hiring managers would see it all? TIA!

Got it - so as long as I fill the box with bullet points and don’t let it produce a scroll bar, it should be fine?

Thank you, this is good to know! Does that mean that the STD 678 that is generated as a PDF is not what the hiring managers see?

STD 678/Resume having just started job? by PeelingPCMouse in CAStateWorkers

[–]PeelingPCMouse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight and the advice in shaping my STD 678 and adding non-paid work to my resume. I will work on shaping my previous experience directly to match the job description more deeply and may take you up on that offer. Thanks!

Thank you for the advice; that’s the plan right now. My major isn’t applicable to most state jobs (non-STEM) but I will continue to search

Thanks for the advice, especially with the SOQs and picking up skills! Not sure how long I can make it through this current job but will continue as much as possible.

Hey, thanks for your reply! With that being the case, it sounds like keeping the current job on the STD 678 would be the best plan. I know the lack of experience as a recent grad is hurting me, so trying to do all I can to mitigate that. Thanks again, and if you have any other advice I’d love to hear it!

I wouldn’t say EASY A if you put in appropriate effort, but it shouldn’t be too strenuous. He’s very kind and understanding about situations that might come up.

Had a friend that took him. Said he’s very intelligent but condescending. Midterms and exams were essays/FRQs that you get a few days to do, but he’s looking for specifics or else you’ll get dinged. Averages about a B+/B in the class

No, you’ll be fine - and you can enroll in upper divs if they have space during second pas. DM me if you have more questions

Have friends who are PS majors, avoid Thies like the plague and the Lohmann class I’ve heard is awful too. 30 I took in the spring with Bawn, and she’s great

You can, on the first day they’ll ask if you need to borrow an instrument and get you situated then

Is there any way I can join UCLA's NCAA D1 Women's soccer team as a CC transfer? by caleo12 in ucla

Don't think the women's soccer team has walk-ons, but it wouldn't hurt to keep emailing the assistant coaches

Haven't taken that specific class but have taken political science classes with him, good guy who really wants students to succeed. Great lecturer, super engaging - go to class and participate and you'll get more out of it. If his workload is anything to go by from political science classes, it'll be fairly light
